Frazer’s school superintendent and principal each resigned their positions, effective the end of June, during a school board meeting on Monday, Jan. 13. Both administrators however are still supportive and pleased with the school system.
“The biggest thing is that there’s nothing wrong with the community or school. The students are fantastic,” Superintendent Dr. Sarah Ruff said.
Both Ruff and Principal Reyna Monteau had positive evaluations and were recommended to have their contracts renew. Ruff said her decision to resign was due to time restraints since she performs educational consulting and research.
“I don’t have time to give 100 percent, which is what this community and school deserve,” Ruff said. She told the school board’s chair of her decision the week before the meeting.
She is focusing on recruiting new administrators for the school district. The advertising effort has already started. Interested applicants can call the school district at 406-695-2241.
“I would recommend to any new administrator that it’s a great place to start,” Ruff said. “Our students are amazing. They are really driven and great to be around.”
If Frazer is unable to recruit a new superintendent for next school year, Ruff said she is willing to continue in the role until a different person is hired. Ruff said she didn’t know of Monteau’s decision to resign until the school board meeting.
