On To Divisionals In Froid

Frazer And Glasgow Speech And Drama Compete In Last Regular Meets Of Season

Over the past two weekends, the Glasgow and Frazer Speech and Drama students wrapped up their regular session and are now getting ready for the Eastern B/C Divisional Meet in Froid on Jan. 25.

On Jan. 11, Frazer traveled to Culbertson for their Invitational. Takoa Old Person placed fourth in humorous interpretation and Marick Old Person placed second in program oral interpretation. Placing for the first time this season, De’mon Grandchamp placed second in spontaneous oral interpretation.

While Frazer stayed in northeast Montana, Glasgow traveled to the other side of the state to participate in Roundup. The team did well in the large meet with the following results:

Humorous Interpretation – Gabe Proctor, fifth place; Ash James, 10th place and Sebastian Gregg, 13th place

Dramatic Interpretation – Kai Combs sixth place

Humorous Solo – Mirax Lipscomb, fifth place; Averylynn Terrel, eighth place

Spontaneous Oral Interpretation – Henry Holte, sixth place

Impromptu – James Pearson, ninth place

In the last meet of the season, Glasgow traveled to Plentywood on Jan. 18, where the team place first in speech sweeps and third in drama sweeps. At an individual level, the following placed:

Humorous Interpretation – Gabe Proctor, second place; Ash James, fourth place and Sebastian Gregg, seventh place

Humorous Solo – Mirax Lipscomb, third place; Averylynn Terrel, fifth place

Humorous Theater – Emmy Gutow and Cody Lacock, third place

Spontaneous Oral Interpretation – Connor Whitmer, first place and Henry Holte, fifth place

Impromptu – James Pearson, second place

Frazer also closed out their season in Plentywood with Takoa Old Person placing fifth in Humorous Interpretation and Marick Old Person placing third in Program Oral Interpretation. De’mon Grandchamp was not able to attend this past meet but competes in Spontaneous Oral Interpretation.

Both teams will continue to fine tune their pieces and make any necessary changes they have learned from throughout the season in order to succeed at Divisionals this weekend.
