Scotties Wrestle In Havre, Bismarck

The Scottie wrestling teams hit a dual in Havre Jan. 7 before traveling to North Dakota to compete in the Bismarck Rotary Jan. 10 and 11.

Glasgow brought home their first dual win from Havre in 15 years for the boys. The Scottie boys won 41-23 while the girls took five wins and three losses in their mixer.

The Scottie boys took 11th place out of 29 teams in Bismarck. They scored 84 team points. The Glasgow girls put up 80 team points to take 18th out of 36 teams.

Riley Clampitt led the girls team with a second place showing at 142 lbs. She scored 28 team points after losing a 2-1 decision to Mylee Christianson of Valley City in the first place match. Kylie Aho scored 13 points, Riley Pedersen 10, Bailey Dooley 5.5, Avery Pedersen 10 and Lana Mason 13.5 points for the girls team.

Khye Gamas won the boys 152 lbs. category with a 7-2 decision over Bismarck’s Braeden Halverson. Gamas scored 30 team points and became only the third Scottie to bring home the top spot from Bismarck. He joins Clampitt and GHS alumni Kyler Hallock as Rotary Champions. Jack Morehouse earned 10.5 points and placed sixth. Tyler King scored 7.5 points, William Kirkland 19 points with a fourth place finish and Michael King 17 points with a sixth place finish.

In JV action, Alex Earll finished second with 18 team points. John Yeska also took second with 18 points while DC Flaten scored 16 points with a second place showing. Siala Moala finished fourth with 7 points and Leo Erickson put up 13 points with a third place finish.

Glasgow hosted Sidney Jan. 14 but results were unavailable at press time.

The Scotties will attend the 66th Annual Cowboy Invitational in Miles City Friday and Saturday, Jan. 17 and 18. They host the Glendive Red Devils Tuesday, Jan. 21, at 5 p.m. for Senior Night.
