The North Country girls beat the Scobey Spartans 41-35 Jan. 11 while the Maverick boys team fell 75-33.
Girls
North Country trailed 12-9 after the first in Scobey but battled back to take a 23-22 lead at the half. The score was tied at 31-31 heading into the final 8 minutes where the Mavericks went on a 10-4 run to win 41-35.
Shelbi LaBrie led the team with 14 points while Gracie Wasson put up 10 points. Kodi McColly scored 6 whle BaiLee McColly and CharLee McColly both added 4 points. Emerson Downing scored 3 points.
Boys
North Country fell behind 20-8 after one and trailed 40-15 at the half. The Mavericks were outpaced 16-10 in the third and 19-8 in the final 8 minutes for the 75-33 loss.
Blaine Downing led North Country with 17 points. Coy Bowman and Kade Strommen each added 4 points. Jake Brown, Laytin Erickson, Sam Simonson and Chase Albus hit for 2 points a piece.
North Country is scheduled to host the Lustre Christian Lions in Saco Friday, Jan. 17, with games at 4, 5:30 and 7 p.m. The Mavericks will play in Nashua at 5:30 and 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18.
