Girls JV & C Split Games
The Scottie JV and C basketball teams hit Poplar for games Dec. 21. Glasgow's boys teams won two games while the girls teams split theirs. The Scottie JV boys defeated Wolf Point 70-38 and beat Malta 70-44 while the C squad beat Malta 47-43 and lost 56-43 to Poplar.
The JV girls lost 42-33 to Malta but rebounded with a 51-34 win over Poplar. Glasgow's C squad lost 49-40 to Malta before beating Lustre 42-32.
Boys
JV
Jackson Abern paced the Scottie JV boys against Wolf Point with 17 followed by Cash Stulc with 15 points. Gage Waarvik scored 12 and Trey Graham 10 points. Gage Larsen added 6 while Gavin Redstone and Davis Tolzien put in 5 each.
Waarvik poured in 17 against Malta followed by Abern with 14 and Stulc with 12 points. Graham and Tolzien both scored 8 points.
C
Redstone and Hank Hopstad both scored 11 to lead Glasgow over Malta. Jack Milam added 8 while Luke Tatfu and Owen Hopstad put in 5 each. Larsen added 3 while Leo Bakeberg hit a bucket.
H. Hopstad led against Poplar with 18 followed by Restone with 13 points. O. Hopstad scored 4 and Larsen added a three-pointer. Aaron Zoanni and Bakeberg both scored 2 points.
Girls
JV
Ava Runner led the girls JV team against Malta with 14 points. Kelbi Wersal scored 5 while Haleigh Huntsman, Bailey Billingsley and Hannah Holinde each added 4 points. Guinevere Abern added a bucket.
Holinde led the team against poplar with 14 followed by Billingsley with 13 and Wersal with 12 points. Runner put in 7 while Abern hit a three-pointer.
C
Amiya Larson led the Scottie C team with 15 points against Malta while Maddy Tatafu put up 12 points. Breelyn Marsalek scored 5 and Alexa Ball and Grace Cornwell added 4 points each.
Larson also paced the team against Lustre, putting up 15 points. Tatfu added 11 followed by Cornwell with 8 points. Ball scored 4 while Hadley Thompson and Marsalek added 1 each.
The Scotties hit the court again in the new year with games in Wolf Point Friday, Jan. 3, while hosting Rocky Boy Saturday, Jan. 4.
