MNPC Provides Many Opportunities To Members

As a member of The Middle of Nowhere Pony Club (MNPC), we are provided with some great opportunities. On Oct. 26, we got to go on a trail ride out at the Uphaus' ranch. We had a great time and learned so much. Jim and Josey Uphaus rode along with us as we went about eight miles in just under four hours. Jim was in a wagon and it was interesting to see how the horses responded and worked together to pull it. Thank you Jim and Josey!

For our November meeting, we met at Lorie Koessl's tack room, right along the Milk River. She taught and quizzed us on any and all things tack-related. I really enjoyed learning about the english saddle as our Pony Club members are all western riders.

Our December meeting was held at the Glasgow City-County Library for our year-end party. Along with enjoying Christmas treats, Jess Korman brought leather and tools for making chinstraps for our bridles. I had a great time doing the leather-work project! We ended the meeting with a celebration: At the beginning of the year, our leaders challenged us to ride 100 hours to earn a jacket or 150 hours to earn a belt buckle. Roan Korman was the only member that successfully completed the challenge, and he earned himself a jacket. Way to go, Roan!

Being a member of the MNPC since its beginning in 2021 has been an awesome experience! Each year, as we grow and learn more, our leaders continue to encourage us in our horsemanship journey.

If you have any further questions or are interested in membership, please feel free to reach out to Emily Redfield or Elizabeth Shipstead, or check us out on Facebook at "Middle of Nowhere Pony Club."
