Frazer Girls And Boys Post Two Losses

The Frazer girls basketball team dropped two games last week for a 2-2 record after two weeks of play. The Bearcubs lost in Brockton 82-23 Dec. 13 and fell 60-57 to MonDak at home Dec. 14.

Brockton ran up a 35-4 lead in the first quarter and outpaced Frazer 21-7 in the second for a 56-11 lead at the half. The Bearcubs put up 10 in the third but the Warriors built on their lead with 18 points. Frazer was outpaced 8-2 in the final eight minutes for the 82-23 loss.

Frazer led 17-15 after eight minutes against MonDak and increased the margin to 31-28 at the half. The Thunder went on a 19-9 run in the third to take a 47-40 lead heading into the fourth. The Bearcubs fought back with 17 points to the Thunder’s 13, but were unable to overcome the lead and lost 60-57.

Frazer had 26 rebounds, 10 assists and 16 turnovers.

Maci Fourstar-Sibley and BriAnna Beston led the Bearcubs with 18 points each. Audrey Smoker scored 10 while Baily Beston put up 7 points. Isabelle Fourstar hit for 3 and Elli Mail scored a free throw.

Smoker earned a double-double with 12 rebounds. Fourstar snagged eight while Baily Beston and Fourstar-Sibley both pulled down three boards. Brianna Beston had seven steals and one block. Fourstar had four steals and Fourstar-Sibley had three takeaways. Baily Beston had two steals while Smoker added a steal and a block.

Frazer was scheduled to play in Nashua Dec. 17 but scores were unavailable at press time.

The Bearcubs host North Country Friday, Dec. 20, for a 5 p.m. game.

Boys

The Frazer boys team lost 88-43 to the Warriors Dec. 13 in Brockton and lost 61-29 to the MonDak Thunder at home Dec. 14. Frazer holds a 0-4 record after two weeks.

The Bearcubs fell behind 28-4 in the first in Brockton while both teams put up 16 in the second for a 44-20 Warriors lead at the half. Frazer scored 16 in the third but Brockton added 27 to the scoreboard. They were outpaced 17-7 in the final eight minutes for the loss.

Frazer put up 13 in the first against MonDak but the Thunder scored 16 to lead after one. The Bearcubs trailed 28-15 heading into the third where MonDak went on a 22-9 run. The Thunder outscored the Bearcubs 11-5 in the fourth for Frazer’s 61-29 loss.

Gabriel Beston led Frazer with 14 followed by Bryce Fourstar with 12 points. Ronald Roundface added 2 while Cassius Smoker hit a free throw.

The Bearcubs were scheduled to play in Nashua Dec. 17 but scores were unavailable at press time.

Frazer hosts North Country Friday, Dec. 20, for a 7 p.m. game.
