Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913
As we previously reported orientation week in Helena was overwhelming yet exhilarating and we might add enlightening. We learned of different opportunities that are available to all of us as Montana residents and in this Constituent Connection we would like to highlight one such program available to the next generation of government servants.
The Legislative Page Program is open to area high school juniors and seniors and is an incredible opportunity for them to learn state government first hand.
Under the supervision of a Page supervisor they will serve one week assisting Legislators and House or Senate staff by running errands, delivering messages, distributing bills and other official documents. Pages have the rare privilege of working on the floor of the House or Senate during legislative action.
During the week, not only will they meet other students from across the state, but also have the opportunity to meet the Governor, Secretary of State and other high level officials.
Pages are paid minimum wage and transportation and housing is the responsibility of the student and/or their parents. Please contact us for help in these areas as we are more than willing to help with arrangements particularly housing.
If you know of someone or your child is interested in the Page Program don’t hesitate to reach out to us with any questions and we are here if you need help with any the process.
The session begins in January and runs through April so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
We are deeply grateful for the trust you have placed in us to serve as your voice in Helena and it is a tremendous honor to represent Northeast Montana and to ensure that the values and priorities of our region are strongly represented at the state capitol.
As we prepare for the legislative session, we want to hear from you our constituents as your insights are invaluable to us as we begin this journey to represent you, the people.
Sincerely,
Representative Valerie Moore, HD29 email: [email protected]
Senator Gregg Hunter, SD15 email: [email protected]
