Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913
David Wayne "Dave" Ashpole passed away peacefully on Thanksgiving Day 2024 with his loving cousin, DeDee Ashpole Hicks, at his side at Valley View Home in Glasgow, Mont.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial will take place in late spring, date to be determined, at Duggan Dolan Mortuary in Butte, Mont.
David is survived by his children, Sabastion and Leah Ashpole; stepchildren Charity and Ross; siblings Debbie, Dan and Diana; his mother, Doreene Ashpole, and numerous nieces and nephews.
David was born in Scobey, Mont., in 1956. David attended schools in Glasgow and Butte. In the early 1980s he left Butte to pursue a carpenter apprenticeship in the Seattle, Wash., area. He eventually moved back to Butte where he had a contractor license to build homes and helped to build businesses in the Butte, Georgetown and Bozeman areas.
Dave was a member of The Butte Amateur Radio Club, it had been a hobby of his since he was a kid.
David loved Montana and the great outdoors. He found comfort and peace in hiking, especially in his own backyard in the Ramsey area.
David was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2015 by a doctor in Portland, Ore., while staying with his sister, Debbie. He moved back to Butte so that he could be near his children, but during that year it was determined that he needed additional care. He entered The Crest Nursing Home where he could also be with his mother.
David's family wants to extend a profound thank you to the staff at both The Crest Nursing home in Butte, Montana and Valley View in Glasgow, for the kind and compassionate care that was given to him in his final years of his life.
David will be greatly missed by the many lives he touched.
