Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913
Looking back at last weekend, Nov. 22-23 was a basketball extravaganza with the LGS Jr. High teams traveling to Saco (boys) and Hinsdale (girls) for the 3C Jr. High tournaments.
Lustre Jr High boys completed their season with eight wins and no losses. They beat North Country 41-25 to qualify for the championship game, where they lost to Frontier, 29-44 but finished second place. Good work!
The Jr. High girls won 30-17 against North Country, and lost to a very good Frazer team in the championship.
The next day, teams from Dodson, North Country, Frontier, Frazer and Nashua came on cold wintery snow-covered roads to the Jamboree tournament. The Jamboree girls won against Opheim, lost to Frontier, and won against Nashua.
The Jamboree boys won their 3C tournament, playing first Opheim, and Frazer to qualify to play in the championship against Frontier. They won 33-29. That is a fine way to end your season, boys!
Looking ahead, LCHS basketball teams will play Plevna on Dec. 6, and Glasgow JV on Dec. 7, at the Glasgow Class C Showcase.
