For the week of Nov. 18 through 23, there were eight motor vehicle stops, two reports of loose livestock, one report of a loose dog and two public assist calls.
Monday, Nov. 18
1802 – Caller reported a pick up that is all over the road. The reporting party stated she is willing to sign a statement as to what she witnessed.
2317 – Deputy advised he is moving a dead porcupine off the road. DOT was notified.
Tuesday, Nov. 19
0823 – Reporting party called stating their truck is dead. They had got out to look at something. When they came back to start the truck, the battery was dead. A description of the truck was provided to dispatch. It was determined they are in Garfield County, so Garfield County dispatch was notified. They will get someone out there to help them.
1144 – Reporting party called in stating she just got a scam call. She said the male caller told her someone had charged a bunch of things on her checking account and the charges were made in New York. The male caller said they have her SSN and wanted her to tell them what her bank balance was. She told him she was not going to give them that information. He said if she didn't cooperate with them, they will send the police to arrest her. She then disconnected the call and called dispatch. Dispatch notified her she needed to call the SSA and her bank as soon as she got off the phone so they can keep an eye on her accounts and make sure no one is stealing anything from her. Information was passed along to an officer.
1516 – Caller reported she received a call from someone saying they were with US Customs. They told her that they intercepted a package in her name in Texas. They said the package was full of drugs and told her that this may be a case of identity theft. They started asking her questions. Dispatch advised her this is a scam.
Wednesday, Nov. 20
0567 – Reporting party called stating there is a water main break and that water is bubbling up through the asphalt of the street. At 0608, another reporting party called about a water break on 4th Ave. N. At 0704 another call came in to report the water main break. At 0731 officer advised he went and looked at this water main break. He said it is pretty bad. He notified the public works director.
1115 – The maintenance person for the church stated there is a vehicle that has been parked in their parking lot for two to three weeks now. It shouldn't be there. At 1121, officer indicated they were going to let the reporting party know that since this is private property they can have it towed.
1157 – Caller with MT DOT in Opheim called stating they just found a bullet hole in the garage door of the shop. It went through the door then ricocheted off the side of the heater, then went into the control panel for the heater. It cut through wires also. There is bullet fragments in the control panel. He states he called his supervisor. He was told to have a deputy come up and do a report on this incident.
1247 – Reporting party called in a possible oil tank on fire. He states there is a sign that says Oil Well #2. RFD, NFD and LRFD were paged out. The company that was listed on the oil well was researched and it was determined it was turned over to the Fort Peck Tribes. RCSO dispatch was provided the information regarding the fire as well.
2050 – Caller stated she was burning garbage in her yard. She confirmed the fire was in a metal garbage can. She and someone else are outside watching the fire so it does not get out of hand. It was advised the reporting party has a metal grate they can put over the barrel and there is only a quarter of the barrel left.
Thursday, Nov. 21
1026 – Reporting party called to advise there is a female who has approximately 30 cats she has. The reporting party says that the female states she is a cat rescue but the cats never leave. She lets them out to run. There is cat feces/urine everywhere. She can't let her kids out to play in her yard as the cats come over to her house. She feels that something needs to be done about this as it is a health hazard.
1237 – A motor vehicle accident was reported. The involved parties are up and walking around but the female has a bump on her head and the male hurt his leg. The reporting party stated it was this vehicle and a work vehicle involved in the accident. At 1241 a second person called in to report the accident.
1327 – A warden trespassed a subject from the Fish and Game building. Dispatch ran a driver license and vehicle report. All of the information was added to the report of officer safety.
