Glasgow School Board Appoints Ryan Fast To Trustee Position

The Glasgow School Board met in regular session on Nov. 13 and voted to appoint Ryan Fast to the open trustee position on the Glasgow School Board. He replaces Board Chair Angie Page who resigned at the end of October.

Fast is not new as a school board trustee as he previously served six years on the Glasgow School Board before retiring in May 2024. Fast will serve as a trustee until May 2025, when an election will be held to fill the remainder of Page’s term, which is set to expire May 2026.

As a result of Page’s resignation, there was also a vacant position as Board Chair. The trustees voted to promote Vice-Chair Blaine White to chair of the board and and Chrissa Nelson as vice-chair.

In other action during the Nov. 13, board meeting, it was noted the retirement of Technology and Vocational teacher James Stone which will be effective Jan. 7, 2025, and the resignation of Justice Steele, who served as the mechanic/transportation coordinator.

The school board also approved the hiring of Cody Tarver as the new mechanic/transportation coordinator and Ruth Vandall as Irle School Title I Teacher.

The full meeting can be viewed on replay at the Glasgow School’s website, http://www.glasgow.k12.mt.us/page/school-board. The next scheduled regular board meeting is set for Wednesday, Dec. 11, at the Gary F. Martin Boardroom, located at the District’s central office, 229 7th St. N.
