Celebrating Veterans In Opheim

Opheim School held a Veterans Day program in the school's gymnasium as a way to say thanks and honor local veterans that were in attendance, including Bob Bergstrom, Staff Sergeant Nordlund, National Guad Recruiter, out of Malta, Steve Shaday, American Legion State Commander Ken Simon, Vice commander of American Legion Charles F. Carrignan Post 122 Sherry Shaday, American Legion District Commander as well as Commander of Post 122 in Opheim Jerry Davenport, Jim Pankratz, and Dennis Honrud.

The program featured music by the Opheim choir and band students, led and accompanied by music teacher Cathy Bailey.

Featured speaker for the program was Staff Sergeant Nordlund, with State Commander Simon also speaking. Jerry Davenport provided some history on Charles Carrignan, while the opening and closing prayers were led by Michelle Stenglein.

After the program, lunch was served by the American Legion Auxiliary.
