Helen F. Hunter

Helen Florence (Farrell) Hunter, 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2024, at Valley View Nursing Home in Glasgow, Mont.

A celebration of life will be held in the Spring of 2025.

Helen was born Jan. 13, 1934, in Roundup, Mont., to Raymond and Dorothy (Ray) Farrell. She grew up in Cut Bank, Mont., graduating from Cut Bank High School and attended nursing school in Great Falls, Mont., graduating with a degree as a Registered Nurse.

Helen met Lawrence Merlin Hunter in high school, and they married on March 30, 1957. They enjoyed 67 years together and countless memories.

They spent their first several years together in Great Falls, Mont., where their children, Kim, Gregg, Lynne and Mark were born. Merlin's job with National Cash Register Company (NCR) relocated them to Glasgow in 1962 where Dale was born. They raised their family in Glasgow and still reside there.

Helen was the most kind, caring and loving person as exhibited by her dedication to nursing, working more than 25 years at the Glasgow Clinic.

Helen and Merlin were active in Jaycees and Jayceens and were members of the First Lutheran Church. Helen's pinochle group was a special group of friends. They were always busy attending their children's and grandchildren's activities. They enjoyed camping, boating and especially their trips to "the Cabin" and Seeley Lake with Helen's family. They loved to travel to visit family and friends and had many adventures with their Holiday Rambler Motor Home Club.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Dorothy and stepmom Mae; her brother Ray Jr.; sister-in-law Verena; and in-laws William and Maxine Hunter.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Merlin; her children, Kim (Jay) Brooks, Gregg (Kim) Hunter, Lynne (Ron) Cebuhar, Mark (Letty) Hunter and Dale (Kathy) Hunter; brother Chuck Farrell; sister Diann Kramer; sister-in-law Dorothy Farrell; brothers-in-law Norman (Mary) Hunter and Jim Hunter; and special cousin Shirley (Norm) Nash.

Helen has 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
