For the week of Oct. 28 through Nov. 3, there were 30 motor vehicle stops, four reports of loose livestock, one report of a lost dog, one report of a loose dog, two reports of deer being hit by a vehicle.
For the week of Nov. 4 through 10, there were seven motor vehicle stops, four reports of loose livestock, one report of a loose dog and one report of an abandoned vehicle.
Monday, Oct. 28
0106 – Reporting party called in and asked for an officer. When asked what was going on, he said his mother was causing trouble at a local establishment. He was outside while his mother was inside. An officer was notified and arrived on scene. The reporting party only wanted to tell the officer that the mother had taken his pickup and had driven it to the establishment. He doesn’t want the officer to charge his mom with unauthorized use nor does he want the officer to retrieve his keys from his mother. The officer stated this is a report for record.
Tuesday, Oct. 29
1307 – Valley County employee requested an officer to walk through the upstairs of the Courthouse. There were two male creating problems.
1635 – Truck driver called in, wishing to remain anonymous. He states there is a truck with an oversized load with no pilot cars and no flaggers. Deputy requested MHP be contacted.
1816 – A woman said her husband was out walking the dogs and was almost hit by a vehicle. She then put her husband on the phone. A description of the vehicle and where the male was walking his dog was provided. They provided a statement to the police officer.
1919 – Reporting party said she was outside with her dog on a leash. As they were getting ready to go back inside, a dog, also on a leash, ran out of a car, then aggressively attacked her dog and her. The reporting party provided the address to the other party involved.
2127 – Caller requested that a couple be removed from her house for trespassing. She said they were guests in her house and they’ve been very disrespectful as well as overstayed their welcome. She asked them to leave but they haven’t, so she wants them removed. Deputy arrived and advised they spoke to all parties involved. They were told to separate for the night and the reporting party was instructed to call if any issues come up.
2256 – Reporting party stated that a vehicle came “flying into the area where RVs are stored and now people are walking around with flashlights.” He could not provide a description of the people, vehicle or if there were any weapons. He found it strange that someone is back there at this time of night. At 2314, an officer made contact with the male who drove into the lot. The male stated the church knows he is there. The officer will call the reporting party and let him know everything is fine.
Wednesday, Oct. 30
0806 – Reporting party called stating someone has slashed two of the tires on their truck. This happened last night. At 0815, officer advised there is no suspect at this time.
0809 – Caller reported a transient has set up camp across the road. He stated they own the building where the person is at but the person might be on different property. The reporting party stated the subject has created quite the mess and thinks someone should talk to him. Officer arrived and provided the subject one hour to pack up his stuff and move on from the location.
0957 – Caller reported their vehicle is disabled on Highway 24N. They have the vehicle off the road and it is not a hazard. She reported they blew a tire and had to leave it there. She stated they hope to have it moved within the day but within the next day or two at the latest.
1551 – The reporting party stated two tires on their utility trailer were slashed last night. At 1620, an officer found another vehicle that has had its tires slashed.
1626 – Deputy reported there is an accident. There are no injuries.
Thursday, Oct. 31
1523 – Reporting party called stating there is a vehicle with two small children in it. The windows are up and a plate number was provided. An officer arrived and the parents are in the vehicle. They are driving and everything seems to be okay.
2121 – A suspicious activity call was reported. Back up lights on some construction equipment were on. The deputy arrived and didn’t see any vandalism so it’s possible the owners forgot the lights were left on.
2324 – Per an officer, an individual was following him around and he talked to him. There was a small fire in the grass near the school. Per officer, there was the tiniest of fire, so he will pour some water bottles on it. At 2346, the fire was out.
Friday, Nov. 1
0010 – A suspicious vehicle was reported. It is a a ways off the road, and it seems to be unoccupied. There are some empty beer cans around.
1439 – A 911 call was received, stating there is a vehicle going about 80 MPH. He said people do this because there are no officers in the area, and when there are, they are busy doing other things. Dispatch had to interrupt him to get further information on the vehicle. A plate number was provided as well as a call back number. He then stated dispatch didn’t want anything else from him and hung up. Dispatch called back asking for a location of the vehicle and had to leave a voicemail.
1539 – A public assist call was recorded for a camper with its hazards on.
Saturday, Nov. 2
1601 – Reporting party called and stated she believes the back hoe has been vandalized. She says the last time she believes it appeared with no damage was on Monday. She states the backhoe was seen about 30 minutes ago with what appeared to have a side window broken, a front light pulled off, as well as the windshield being cracked. Information was passed along to a deputy. It was determined the damage was related to normal operations.
1747 – Caller was upset and asking for assistance in getting an engine for BNSF moved from behind their residence. He states that it has been idling there for a couple of days and the constant thumping is driving him crazy. The situation was reported to BNSF, who will attempt to contact someone and see about getting it moved.
2331 – Reporting party stated someone in a vehicle, tried to run them over by the school. The direction of travel was provided.
Monday, Nov. 4
1601 – Caller stated they received a letter in the mail stating they owed for a parking fine in Key West, Fla. Dispatch explained that other states run plates with no hyphens, so it’s possible the plate may belong to someone in Great Falls. The caller was advised to call the number on the letter and explain the situation. It was determined it was a legitimate letter but it was a Cascade County plate.
2205 – Caller requested an officer to remove a male. She said he is drunk and being belligerent. She has asked him to leave but he hasn’t. A description of the male and what he was wearing was provided. An officer was notified who requested assistance from a deputy. Deputy advised the male is in custody and a PBT of .296 was recorded for the arrestee.
Tuesday, Nov. 5
1050 – An individual came into the dispatch lobby as she found a wallet and wanted to get it returned to the rightful owner. Dispatch made contact with the owner, and the owner picked up the wallet at 1440.
1428 – Reporting party stated his daughter gave a male his drill. He doesn’t know why she did not, as she doesn’t have any right to do that. He has tried to call the male about this but he won’t take his calls. The reporting party is in Billings now but he will need his drill when he gets out as that is how he makes a living. Deputy advised it sounds like a civil issue.
1809 – Officer found buckets in the middle of the highway. He picked them up.
Wednesday, Nov. 6
1606 – Caller is requesting an officer at his shop. He found some vandalism to some vehicles that he was working on for some customers.
1734 – Reporting party said about three to four minutes ago, she saw a cattle truck run through a railroad crossing when the arms were down. She said it knocked off one of the arms. Shortly after an Amtrak went through and knocked the broken arm off the track. A deputy, Highway Patrol and BNSF were notified.
1722 – Caller said she locked herself out of her apartment. She requested the number for a locksmith.
1754 – A deputy advised a guy is flagging him down.
Thursday, Nov. 7
1541 – Caller reported her front passenger tire was slashed on Oct. 28. This would have occurred between 1500 and 1800 as she left work at 1800 and got midway under the underpass when the vehicle indicated something was wrong with her tire. She was not going to report it but then heard about the other incidents that happened in the area.
Friday, Nov. 8
0951 – Reporting party called stating she backed into a fire hydrant. She has damage to her pickup. There is no water coming from the fire hydrant, but would like an officer to make sure there is no damage to the hydrant.
1336 – Reporting party called to report a minor motor vehicle accident. There are no injuries. At 1406, officer advised accident forms have been exchanged and the male driver was cited for no insurance.
1956 – An anonymous woman reported she could hear a kid screaming for his mom about five to 10 minutes prior to the call. The reporting party could not tell if the crying was in pain or anger.
Saturday, Nov. 9
0239 – A public assist call was recorded. The vehicle is occupied with a male driver and a deputy tried to wake him up. He refused PBT.
1145 – Caller reported a theft at her residence Wednesday night. She stated a person too money from under her TV in her room. The reporting party witnessed him take the money. She has tried calling and texting him but he is not answering.
1355 – Reporting party stated they had a calf that was hit and killed on the road last night. There is no indicators at the location on what the vehicle might have been. The calf was dead when it was located this morning. The caller wanted to know if dispatch reports situations like these to body shops in the area. At 1544, deputy attempted to call the reporting party about the calf but there was no answer.
1719 – Caller reported when he was in the parking lot, a guy and a girl came up and began banging on his car window. He doesn’t know for what reason but believes it was for money. At 1734, another caller reported there were individuals walking around banging on car windows. An officer was notified who stated he and another officer were handling a more pressing concern with a prior call for service.
1852 – Caller reported he struck a cow. He is back at his location and the cow is at the edge of the road. At 1858, deputy spoke with the reporting party and provided a white form to fill out.
