The Sean R. Heavey gallery saw a number of ghosts, goblins, princesses, Presidents, video game characters and animals come in on Oct. 31 for The Glasgow Courier's annual Halloween Costume Contest.
Ella Gilchrist, Amelia Gilchrist, Katie Kuhlmann and Taylor Hopstad were all correct in guessing what the staff of The Glasgow Courier was dressed up as. Michelle was Breaking News, Gwen was Headline and Terry was Old News. Honorable mention goes to Kim Turner for guessing Old News, Twitter and News. Another honorable mention goes to Alan Sheldon for his guess of Time Traveler, Famous Person and Compass.
Many votes were cast on social media for the People's Choice award, and the grand prize winner goes to Trade Simpson as a Rodeo Clown with 101 votes.
The Glasgow Courier has also awarded the following:
Best Family Costume – Burleson Family as KISS
Best Kids Costume – Remi George as Wednesday
Best Group Costume – Forest Gump, comprised of Katie Barnett, Kayla Dix and Chelsea Headley
Sigma Award – Chippettes, comprised of Gwen Turner, Shirley Thompson and Allie Jones
Murdoch Pattison as Bob Ross won Gwen's vote.
Best Kids Costume – Crocs comprised of Izzy and Gabby Cortright
Best Adult Couple – Shaggy and Velma, comprised of Tommi Prewett and Logan Prewett.
Best Toddler Costume – Baby Grinch with Max, comprised of Wade Pankratz and Murphy the Dog.
All prizes can be picked up at The Glasgow Courier office starting Monday, Nov. 11.
