Fall to Fairview, Defeat Wolf Point
The Scottie volleyball team split their matches in the final week of the regular season. Glasgow fell to Fairview at home Oct. 24 but recovered with a road win in Wolf Point Oct. 26.
Glasgow battled the Warriors at home. The visitors won the first two sets before the Scotties took them to extra points for the win in the third game. Fairview won the fourth set to win the match. Glasgow fell 25-16, 25-23, 27-25, 25-18.
The Scotties had eight aces, 40 kills, 37 assists, 90 digs and seven blocks. Macy Martin and Kolbi Ross led in aces with two each. Joely Chappell had 16 kills and 25 digs to lead Glasgow. Martin had 36 of the team's assists. Halle Hunter stopped four of Fairview's shots to lead in blocks.
The Scottie JV team won their match in three, 25-23, 25-23, 15-12.
Glasgow swept the Wolves on the road, 25-15, 25-14, 25-13. The Scotties had four aces, 36 kills, 30 assists, 10 blocks and 67 digs to the Wolves' three aces, 12 kills, 12 assists, 10 blocks and 36 digs.
Chappell led the Scottie team in three categories: aces, two; kills, 13, and digs, 18. Martin put up 27 assists and Hunter knocked down six Wolf Point shots.
The JV team also won in three sets 25-16, 25-12, 15-11. Glasgow's C squad also put up a three game win 25-18, 25-15, 15-12. The C squad also won a match in Nashua Oct. 22 against the Porcupines 25-9, 25-18, 21-25, 25-23.
The Scotties closed the regular season with a 10-5 overall record. They enter the District 2B as the number two seed with a bye on the first day of play. Glasgow will play the winner of the Malta-Harlem match on Friday, Nov. 1, at 11:30 a.m. The tournament runs Thursday through Saturday, Oct. 31-Nov. 2 in Malta.
