Scottie Football Ends Regular Season With

42-8 Win Over Wolf Point

The Scotties cruised to another conference win after starting the game scoring on the opening kick off. Khye Gamas returned the opening kick 85 yards to put the Scotties on the scoreboard 16 seconds into action. Jose Ramon Osuna Lopez added the kick for a 7-0 lead over the Wolves. Glasgow defeated Wolf Point 42-8 to close out the regular season and finish with a 4-1 conference record, 7-2 overall.

Glasgow added to their lead in the first quarter on a Grady Nielsen 19-yard catch for a touchdown followed by another Osuna Lopez kick and a 7-yard touchdown run by Trey Graham and another kick from Osuna Lopez.

The Scotties built on their 21-0 lead in the second quarter. Liam Chapman scored on a 6-yard run and Kade Strommen came down with a 59-yard reception. Osuna Lopez added the PAT on both plays as Glasgow carried a 35-0 lead into the second half.

Neither team scored in the third quarter but in the fourth quarter back-up QB Cash Stulc connected with William Kirkland on a 26-yard pass for a touchdown. Osuna Lopez added the PAT on a perfect performance. Wolf Point found the end zone with under a minute remaining in the game.

The Scotties put up 350 total and net yards offense. They had 14 first downs, went 2-for-5 on third downs and 1-for-1 on fourth downs. Glasgow was successful on 3-of-4 red zones.

Glasgow went 8-for-15 on passes, gaining 171 yards with three touchdowns and one interception. They gained an average of 11.4 yards per completion. Gamas went 7-of-14 on passes for 145 yards gain with one interception and two touchdowns. Stulc completed one pass for a 26-yard touchdown. Strommen led in receptions with one catch for 59 yards and a touchdown. Graham had two catches for 37 yards and Nielsen had two catches for 36 yards. Kirkland added 21 yards on two catches and Wyatt Babb advanced the team 18 yards on one reception.

The Scotties gained 179 yards on 21 carries, averaging 8.5 yards per run, and scored two touchdowns. Graham scored a touchdown on one of his seven carries. He advanced the team 74 yards. Gamas, Stulc and Kirkland each gained 31 yards. Gamas had three carries while Kirkland had six runs. Stulc carried the ball twice. Chapman had two runs for 13 yards.

Defensively the Scotties allowed the Wolves 212 yards, all on rushing. Wolf Point was 0-for-3 on passes while gaining 212 rushing yards on 46 carries.

Coy Nelson powered the defensive line, and won the Dale Vegge award, with 10 total tackles. He had six unassisted, three assisted and one for loss. Connor Hudyma and Trey Graham each added six total tackles. Hudyma notched four unassisted and two assisted while Graham had three unassisted, one assisted and two for loss. Myles Yoakam, Grady Nielsen and Rex Monson each put up five total tackles. Yoakam had three unassisted, one assisted and one for loss. Nielsen notched one solo, three assisted and one for loss. Monson put up four unassisted and one assisted.

Michael King added three unassisted and one assisted for four total tackles while Dillon Hughes also had four total tackles – two unassisted and two assisted. Tavin Boland put up three unassisted tackles. Andrew Linder, Nic Solorzano, Strommen, Kirkland, Luke Tatafu, Babb and Hank Hopstad all added two total tackles. Linder, Babb and Solorzano had one unassisted and one assisted. Strommen, Tatafu and Hopstad each notched two solo takedowns. Kirkland put up an unassisted and a tackle for loss with a sack and a hurry.

Osuna Lopez went TB, 32, 40, 33, TO, OB25 and 42 yards on kick offs while going 6-for-6 on PATs and 0-for-1 on field goal attempts. Gamas gained 19 on one punt and had an 85-yard kick off return as well as a 32-yard punt return. Yoakam had 0 yards on a kick off return while Boland loss three yards on one punt return.

Glasgow finished the season in the number two position in the North. They open the postseason Saturday, Nov. 2, at 1 p.m., at home against Eureka, the number three seed out of the West.
