The Glasgow/Long Run Fire Department was paged on Oct. 7 to a fire at landfill in Glasgow. Though the cause of the fire is unknown, fire trucks, personnel and the St. Marie Fire Department assisted with putting the fire out the morning of Oct. 8.
Glasgow/Long Run Fire Department was paged the night of Oct. 7, at 11:03 p.m., to a fire at the landfill in Glasgow.
Upon arrival, heavy fire was observed back in the pit. Response included five fire trucks and eight fire department personnel while Saint Marie Fire Department assisted with bringing a water tender.
Approximately 38,850 gallons of water was sprayed on the fire.
All crews cleared the morning of Oct. 8 at 4:28 a.m.
As of press time, the cause of the fire is unknown.
