Scottie Volleyball Goes 1-1 on the Week

Falls to Glendive, Defeats Fairview

Glasgow hosted Glendive Oct. 1 and fell in four sets to the Class A Red Devils. The Scotties traveled to Fairview Oct. 5 where they defeated the Warriors in four games.

Glendive took the first set 25-22 and won the second 25-19. Glasgow battled back to win the third set 25-14 and fought hard in the fourth set but fell 25-23.

The Scotties had six aces, 24 kills, 20 assists, nine blocks and 71 digs in the match. Kolbi Ross led in aces with two while Macy Martin had all 20 of the team’s assists. Hayden Green led in blocks with five. Joely Chappell led in kills with nine and had 22 digs.

Glasgow’s C squad lost to Glendive, 10-25, 22-25, 15-12, 7-15.

On the road Saturday, Glasgow took the first two sets over Fairview, 25-22, 25-18. The Warriors won the third set 20-25 before the Scotties took the match with a 25-23 victory in the fourth game.

The team had eight aces, 38 kills, 35 assists, 13 blocks and 82 digs. Gina Page led in aces with three while Martin had 32 of Glasgow’s assists. Mayzie Yoakam and Chappell both had 11 kills. Halle Hunter stopped five of Fairview’s scoring attempts. Martin and Yoakam led in digs with 19 each.

The JV team won their match in three sets, going to extra points in the third game, 25-7, 25-13, 17-15.

Glasgow hosts Harlem Thursday, Oct. 10, for Pink Night.

C, JV and Varsity teams will play beginning at 4:30 p.m. The Scotties will then travel to Malta for C, JV and Varsity matches beginning at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 12.
