Lustre played the Wolf Point Wolves JV team Oct. 1. The Lions volleyball team then traveled to Glasgow Oct. 3 to play the Scottie JV team before traveling to Richey Oct. 4 to take on Richey/Lambert and Plentywood in a triangular.
Lustre beat the Wolves in five sets, 27-29, 22-25, 15-9, 15-12, 15-4. Coach Mary Zerbe said, "Great non-conference match ... Scrabby defense, tough serving and a never say die attitude. The Lady Lions with the will to win taking the Wolves to 5! This non-conference match allowed the Lady Lions to play their JV team as well as their varsity. It was a fun night watching the Lions gain valuable experience and grow before our very eyes."
Lustre fell in Glasgow, 17-25, 8-25, 11-25, despite some strong volleys Lustre lost their first match on the road against the R/L Fusion, 17-25, 25-8, 22-25, before falling to the Plentywood Wildcats, 8-25, 16-25, 12-25.
The Lions hosts the Bainville Bulldogs Friday, Oct. 11, at 3:30 p.m. and play the North Country Mavericks Saturday, Oct. 12, in Lustre at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, Lustre the welcomes the Scobey Spartans to the Lions Den for a 6 p.m. match.
