David grew up in southern California, where he attended Neff High School in La Mirada. During his school years, he excelled at football and enjoyed spending time at the beach, surfing and body boarding. After graduating, Dave married Cathy Rhoades and they welcomed their daughter, Amy, into the world. Soon after, he started his career in pool and spa plumbing and founded Hamilton Plumbing, a very successful business he ran for most of his life.
David later moved to Murrieta, Calif., with his second wife, Carrie Davis. They had three children: Cassandra, Shea, and David. David took great pride in being all his children's "biggest fan" in the sports and extra-curricular activities they were involved in. He would drive many miles to bring them to practice or games, and just enjoyed watching them do what they loved.
At one point, David lived on Lido Isle, in Newport Beach, near his parents. He owned a boat, which he named "Carramy." He loved to hang with his friends on the boat and take it for weekends in Catalina. Dave was also a 5th degree Tae Kwon Do Master, an accomplishment he was very proud of achieving. He travelled to Seoul, Korea, where he tested for and received his Masters belt which was a highlight in his life. He co-owned part of a Do Jang in Murrieta and trained many students over the years, leaving a lasting legacy in the martial arts community. David was known for his warm, generous heart, in which he always wanted to help others and would be there for friends and family in whatever way he could.
After getting a divorce and retiring, David moved to Glasgow, in November 2022. He then had a special relationship with his nephews, Mark Duprez and Craig Duprez.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lorraine Hamilton; his brother, Robert Hamilton; sister-in-law Michelle Hamilton; and brother-in-law Pete Grobel.
David is survived by his children, Amy (Andreas) Fernandez, Cassandra (Cody) Green, Shea (Jordan) Sechler and David (Rysa) Hamilton; and his treasured grandchildren, Keira and Jace Fernandez, Reed Hamilton, Hudson Green, and Sonny Sechler. He is also survived by his brother, Ken (Lynne) Hamilton; his sisters, Nancy Hamilton and Peggy (Kyle) Grobel; and numerous nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
David will be remembered for his larger than life personality, sarcasm and humor, his amazing heart, and his love for his family and friends. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
