Glasgow Flower and Gift Brightens Downtown with New Sign, Thanks To Community Grants

Glasgow Flower and Gift, a beloved business in downtown Glasgow, recently upgraded its storefront with a new, modern sign. This project was made possible through the support of Two Rivers Economic Growth's Storefront Beautification Grant Program and the Downtown Signage Grant Program, sponsored by Prairie House Gardens.

The original sign, installed in 1994, had stood the test of time, enduring 30 years of harsh eastern Montana weather. Peggy Aakre, owner of Glasgow Flower and Gift, fondly recalled the sign's history. "Chris from Havre Signs installed the new sign, but what makes it extra special is that his father was the one who built the original sign all those years ago. It's been wonderful to see Chris bring it into a new era."

The new sign, featuring sleek LED lights, brings a fresh energy to the downtown streetscape, especially after dark when the glow enhances the welcoming feel of Main Street. Two Rivers Economic Growth Executive Director, Shyanne Wallace, expressed her enthusiasm for the project. "It's wonderful to see such a nice update to one of our downtown landmarks. The new sign at Glasgow Flower and Gift adds a fresh, modern touch, and it's exciting to watch our downtown continue to evolve."

This signage improvement is part of a larger effort to revitalize Glasgow's downtown, ensuring it remains vibrant and appealing for both local businesses and the community. Through grants and collaborative partnerships like the one between Two Rivers Economic Growth and Prairie House Gardens, these kinds of enhancements are creating a more attractive and thriving downtown.

With the new sign illuminating the storefront, Glasgow Flower and Gift stands as a shining example of how local businesses and community programs can come together to make a lasting impact on the town's charm and growth.
