Law Enforcement Report

For the week of Sept. 16 through 22, there were five motor vehicle stops, two reports of loose livestock, two reports of loose horses, one report of a missing dog, two reports of a deer being hit by a vehicle, one report of a lost dog, and one report of a barking dog.

For the week of Sept. 23 through 29, there were six motor vehicle stops, three reports of loose dogs, two reports of loose livestock, one report of a loose horse, one report of a barking dog, three reports for public assist, and three reports of a deer being hit by a vehicle.

Monday, Sept. 16

1549 – Caller reported that around 1445 hours, she left her wallet in a shopping cart. The contents of the wallet was provided to dispatch. She already contacted the store and nothing was turned into them. At 1615, reporting party advised the store found her wallet. Everything was still inside.

1958 – Caller reported she was terminated and the company still has some of her personal property. She is having trouble retrieving it. A deputy advised he will call her back.

2025 – Caller reported she’s behind a vehicle that’s all over the road. A description of the vehicle was provided as well as direction of travel. She did indicate there’s a deputy in front of the vehicle.

Tuesday, Sept. 17

0802 – Reporting party called stating he got a notification on his phone that there was someone at a residence he owns. The first time the person shows up on the video is at 0058 hours. The camera also shows the neighbor came out asking what he was doing there and the guy said he was looking for someone. The guy was advised no one was living there by that name, which at that point the male got in his truck and left. Dispatch informed the reporting party as soon as an officer comes on shift, they will be notified of the call.

0940 – A female came in looking to see if dispatch had any keys turned in. She stated she lost them in August, possibly at the fairground, but was not sure.

1048 – A male called in stating they had done some work on a combine, the owner came and picked it up. The combine then lost the hydraulic fluid on the highway. They have put floor dry on the fluid but there is blockage on the highway and they will be towing the combine back to the shop. He would like an officer to come out and check the situation to make sure everything is okay or provide traffic control. Officer arrived and confirmed the combine is blocking the right lane, however believes the blockage is obvious to other drivers.

1158 – Reporting party came into dispatch lobby to report vandalism to the Rock Creek Dam in Hinsdale. He stated they just paid $130,000 just three weeks ago to fix the dam, poured new concrete and now someone is out there, having a bonfire on the dam. There were shot gun shells, and there’s damage to the concrete. It was confirmed that the bonfire and things were on top of the newly poured concrete on the dam.

1532 – Reporting party was at the Glasgow Police Department reporting someone stole her bike. A description of the bike was provided. The bike had been missing for three days.

1839 – Caller reported his wife hit a pole. She wasn’t injured. The pole is not sparking but he’s concerned it may need to be looked at. A deputy advised there’s minimal damage to the pole, however the pole does have a minor gash in the bottom of it. Pole identification numbers were provided to Northwestern Energy.

1841 – Reporting party wanted to report suspicious activity in McCone County. He stated a person took the back plate off the vehicle. Dispatch advised he reached Valley County.

2301 – Manager provided a courtesy call stating a street would be closed due to a water leak. VCSO, Fire and EMS was notified.

Wednesday, Sept. 18

0255 – Reporting party called and she was having trouble sleeping even though she took her medication. She provided her blood pressure and glucose, and then asked if she needed to go to the ER. Dispatch advised they are not a doctor but could direct her to speak with a nurse and gave her the number. A few minutes later dispatch called the hospital and the reporting party was talking to the nurse now.

0329 – A male observed two 18 to 20 year old males carrying hunting rifles walking eastbound. He said by the time he got turned around and headed back, they were entering a residence. The caller knows its hunting season but wanted dispatch to be aware. Deputy was advised of the call who stated there was no crime to respond to.

0927 – Reporting party called stating there is someone playing rap music very loud. He wants the officer to tell them to turn it down. He says whoever they are they are distributing the peace at the retirement community. At 0955, it was advised the officer was unable to locate anyone playing music and he also didn’t see anyone out that may have been playing music.

1036 – Reporting party stated there is a vehicle that has been going from 30 to 50 mph and kind of swerving. While on the phone, the vehicle pulled over and the drivers were switched. Reporting party fells the issue has been solved. Dispatch notified him an officer would be notified.

1145 – Reporting party called to report an incident that just happened. She says that the female who lives behind her tried to shoot her dog with a BB gun and ended up hitting her friend’s arm instead. The friend is not hurt and the reporting party told her to stay in the house. Dispatch advised that everyone should stay in their homes until an officer can arrive to handle the situation.

1554 – Caller requested an officer at the train station. He said his brother’s girlfriend is trying to break his windows out.

1729 – A card was started at an officer’s request on a found bike.

Thursday, Sept. 19

0812 – An employee advised that one of their staff vehicles was hit in the parking lot. She said there’s a big dent in the fender. She said they noticed it this morning but they can’t be sure that it happened last night as they didn’t notice if it was fine yesterday or not. She said she wanted it called in before people start driving the parking lot. She advised they have taken pictures of the damage and there is a beer can not too far away from the vehicle.

1629 – A courtesy call was provided that two streets are now open to one way traffic. A text message was sent to EMS and Fire.

Friday, Sept. 20

1210 – Reporting party stated there is an abandoned vehicle. The car has been there a long time. The reporting party was advised dispatch went through the process of trying to find the current registered owner of the vehicle with no luck. The caller was advised it is a civil situation and he has permission to tow the vehicle.

1751 – Caller reported the person from a nearby residence keeps parking in her spot. He was told before that he’s not supposed to be parking there and that it’s only for residences. The caller was patched up with a deputy.

1822 – Caller reported an unknown female and male are burning twigs on the sidewalk. He didn’t think it was safe to do so.

1852 – Caller reported there’s a vehicle that’s doing around 35 MPH and swerving all over the road. The reporting party provided a description but no plate number. A few minutes later a deputy advised a vehicle pulled out of a driveway matching the description. The vehicle was followed for driving behavior. It was advised the vehicle pulled into another driveway and they are possibly lost or waiting for the storm to pass.

1909 – Northwestern Energy said they have a power line down in the alley and the line runs through the yard. It’s not sparking and a serviceman is en route. They were wondering if an officer can keep everyone away until their serviceman gets there. At 1847, officer advised they can not find any lines down. It was determined a number was transposed while getting the address.

1922 – Caller reported that at the swimming pool construction site, most of the fence is blown over on the street side. Public Works Director was notified who would notify the contractors.

Monday, Sept. 23

1922 – Caller reported a lady parked in the middle of the road. She was in the lane heading north to Glasgow. First the caller stated the woman got out of the vehicle, ran across the road and then got back into the car. Then the caller said the woman was wondering around in the middle of the road. The caller stopped behind the vehicle when the woman stopped the car. The caller then tried to talk to the woman but she got back in her car and remained in her spot on the highway.

Tuesday, Sept. 24

0800 – Reporting party called stating she had already called in this vehicle, but it is still parked in front of their shop and they need it gone. An officer later advised he tagged the vehicle yesterday and it will get a notice for the vehicle to be towed today. Officer got in touch with the registered owner and she will get it moved.

1617 – Caller said his boat quit on him on the lake. A description of where he was at was provided. The Fort Peck Marina was called and they didn’t have anyone available to tow him in so provided another number.

2251 – Caller asked if someone reported a vehicle backward in the ditch. The reporting party stated it looked like the vehicle is sitting crooked with both the front and rear end in the ditch. At 2315, deputy advised he spoke with the registered owner. It was determined his daughter was driving and a tire blew out, which caused her to go into the ditch. When the car went into the ditch, the second tire blew out.

Wednesday, Sept. 25

1157 – Caller reported she has a possible rattle snake in her yard. She wanted to know what to do about it. It was determined it was a bull snake and a deputy moved it to a place away from the residences.

1309 – A vehicle is in the ditch. Dispatch ran the plate and called the registered owner. It was determined the vehicle had been sold a second time and the name of the possible owner was provided.

1344 – Caller reported that last week he took a shower at a friend’s house. He forgot his clothes there. He went to get them back and she will not give him his clothes back. At 1534, it was reported an officer advised he called the female. She told him he had left some clothes there. When he called her, she told him she was busy right then and could not bring them to him. He got mad at her and started yelling so she didn’t talk to him anymore. She told the officer she would take him his clothes.

1423 – RC called stating earlier today they got a call from a female who told them there was a grader that was being driven recklessly. It was advised the reporting party didn’t seem to want anything done so they didn’t get any further information. However, the reporting party then called back and stated she was in Wolf Point and wanted to meet with an officer about the incident. It was determined to be a Roosevelt County grader and the driving occurred in Roosevelt County.

1835 – Reporting party stated he was leaving the parking lot when the vehicle quit on him. The vehicle is not completely off the road, but he wasn’t able to push it. At 1835, officer advised the reporting party is back to the scene and will try to get it pushed out of the roadway.

2025 – Caller reported there is a vehicle parked up to the stall door. There’s nobody in the vehicle and there is no permission to park there.

Thursday, Sept. 26

1640 – Caller said she’s at work and there was a crew fixing the parking lot. She offered to move her vehicle. They told her she didn’t need to because it wasn’t in the way. However, she said they hit her vehicle and then left without telling her. A deputy requested the call be passed along to MHP.

1737 – Caller reported that someone rolled his pickup by his residence. He said there doesn’t appear to be any injuries. Thompsons arrived on scene and one citation was issued for careless driving.

Friday, Sept. 27

0816 – A parking violation was reported. Officer advised someone will get a hold of the subject who owns the rig and tell him to move it forward some.

1644 – Reporting party called to state they know about a male subject that came to the church looking for some help to get to Florida. The pastor stated he could help but first would need to go to the Sheriff’s Office to do a background check. The subject declined then and left. A description of the male was provided as well as direction of travel. The reporting party gave dispatch the subject’s name and date of birth. Information was passed along to an officer.

1850 – Caller reported there’s been a man walking around town all day. He just wandered by her house and was talking to himself. A description of the man was provided. At 1909, it was reported that an officer advised they have the subject detained.

1914 – Reporting party called stating he is bringing his girlfriend to the hospital because she is in labor. He has his flashers on in case somebody calls on it.

Saturday, Sept. 28

1042 – Caller stated he has acquired a goat and a couple of horses in his yard that are not his. The boys were out getting the horses and goats gathered up.

1441 – Caller stated there is a motor home with another trailer behind it parked across the way from the caller. He is concerned there are a couple of dogs that are left in the motor home during the day. The caller is concerned that on some of those days the temps are in the 90s. Information was passed along to a deputy to check in on it later when he makes it over to the area.

2331 – Caller reported a vehicle driving back and forth for like four hours. She texted the driver asking to stop because the car is loud and her kid is sleeping. An officer later patrolled the area and there was no vehicles matching the description.

Sunday, Sept. 29

0343 – Reporting party would like his girlfriend removed. She is drunk and he doesn’t want her there. Per an officer it was a civil matter and things have calmed down.
