Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

Voting For Jon Tester

Dear Editor,

As a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1982 through 1986, I'm voting for Jon Tester.

I took a four-year leave of absence from my job as a locomotive engineer and took a heck of a pay cut to join the Navy. I have no regrets. During my Navy time I proudly served my country, and worked with many dedicated, patriotic, and intelligent people who were, in a word, inspirational.

None of the Navy enlisted or officers that I served with had the experience, or knowledge necessary, to launch into high public office like present U.S. Senatorial candidate Tim Sheehy is attempting to do. Being a military veteran, even a trained Navy Seal, doesn't make one U.S. Senator material right out of the gate. Mr. Sheehy is not qualified.

Keeping the best interests of Montana in mind is not easy. Jon Tester does a good job looking out for us, and he does it by reaching across the aisle, finding compromises that serve both Montana and the USA. Here in Glasgow, Tester helped with funding the Valley View Home and the Glasgow Airport. He's done similar work all across Montana. That is why I'm voting for him for U.S. Senate.

Thank You.

Steve Sukut,

Glasgow, Mont.
