Teaching The Younger Generations And Remembering 9/11

It's been 23 years since the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, changed the world that we live in. Since that fateful day, new generations have been born that will only learn about the events of that day through storytelling and in their classrooms.

Kids in Krissy's Delicate Angels, a home daycare in Glasgow, have learned early in their lives to thank local first responders for all that they do for their community as a way to give back. For the past five years, owner and operator of Krissy's Delicate Angels, Kristine MacDonald, have had kids sign cards, make posters, and visit local law enforcement to say thank you and meet them in person.

"We do it every year because I truly believe you are never too young to get to know who first responders are and what they do for our community," explained MacDonald. "We choose to do it on 9/11 every year because the kiddos are, yes too young to understanding what 9/11 is or why it's important to remember, however it's the best way I personally feel I can honor those first responders who gave their life that day, by teaching the younger generations to be thankful we have them in our community."

On this year's date, MacDonald took her kids to the Glasgow Police Department where they presented both Glasgow Police Officers and Valley County Sheriff Deputies with thank yous for all that they do. The kids also had the opportunity to meet the individuals in the law enforcement community.

"The 20 plus law enforcement officers that were there were very encouraged by their efforts," reflected Sheriff Tom Boyer.
