Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

Glasgow Elks Lodge 1922 Holds Fundraiser To Improve Historic Building

The Glasgow Elks Lodge 1922 held a successful fundraiser on Sept. 7, to improve its historic building, raising much-needed funds install a new boiler and upgrade the facility. The existing boiler, which had been serving the lodge since the early 1950s, had reached the end of its life, making the upgrade both necessary and timely.

The support from the community was overwhelming, with local residents and businesses coming together to help preserve this important fixture in Glasgow's history. The funds raised will be used not only to install the new boiler but also to improve the flooring, ensuring the lodge continues to serve as a welcoming space for gatherings, events, and community activities.

Exalted Ruler Max Knodel expressed his gratitude, saying, "This fundraiser means the world to us. It shows just how much the people of Glasgow care about the Elks Lodge and the role we play in the community. We are incredibly thankful for the outpouring of support-it allows us to keep providing a space where people can come together and where we can continue serving our community."

While the Glasgow Elks Lodge does have a wonderful bar business, managed by Amanda James, it is a non-profit organization that operates the building as a community asset. The lodge actively supports local causes, providing scholarships for students, awarding grants to organizations like the Valley County Community Food Bank, supplying flags for area classrooms, and offering its facilities free of charge to various clubs and organizations.

Elks Lodges, like the one in Glasgow, are integral to the fabric of their communities. They are places where neighbors come together, families share meals, and children grow up learning the importance of service and fellowship. This fundraiser showcased the strength of the Glasgow community and its commitment to keeping this historic lodge thriving for future generations.

With the funds raised, the Glasgow Elks Lodge will continue to be a place that enriches lives and strengthens the bonds of the community, serving as both a social hub and a resource for charitable endeavors.

Donations are always welcome and can be dropped off at the Lodge during business hours or mailed to 329 2nd Ave. S., Glasgow, MT 59230.
