Scottie Football Comes Down With First Home Win

Knock Down Huntley Project 43-12

The Scottie football team gave the home crowd a big show Friday with a 43-12 victory over the Huntley Project Red Devils. Glasgow kicked off first and shut down the Devils' first run quickly to take control of the game offensively.

After a bumbled snap and recovery, and a called-back touchdown, Glasgow's kicker Jose Ramon Osuna Lopez hit the 28-yard field goal to put the Scotties on the scoreboard at 5:47. After some back and forth, Tavin Boland recovered a fumble punt, setting up the Scotties for a Khye Gamas quarterback keeper 7-yard run at 33.9. Osuna Lopez added the point after touchdown to give Glasgow 10-0 lead.

The Scotties added to their score with 4:58 left in the second when Gamas ran the ball back into the end zone. The Red Devils blocked the PAT. A Nic Solorzano interception led to another Glasgow touchdown when Gamas found Kade Strommen in the end zone. The PAT by Osuna Lopez put the score at 23-0 before a fumbled kick-off return by Huntley Project put the ball back in Glasgow's hands. After an unsportsmanlike penalty on Huntley Project, a big catch by Wyatt Babb put the Scotties on the 5-yard line. Gamas wove his way into the end zone on another carry with 8.6 seconds left in the half. Huntley Project blocked the PAT as Glasgow carried a 29-0 lead into the second half.

A march downfield to start the second second half led to another Gamas QB keeper and PAT as well as a running clock. Huntley Project answered with a touchdown but the two-point attempt was shut down by the Scottie defense. At the other end of the field, Wyatt Sugg rushed the ball in to restart the running clock and the PAT made it 43-6 to end the third quarter. The Red Devils connected on a pass into the end zone in the fourth for a 43-12 score which held through the remainder of the game.
