Though Grandparents Day was officially celebrated on Sept. 8, Irle Elementary spent Sept. 6, celebrating grandparents and the special people in the lives of their students.
Students were able to show off their classroom, friends and teachers to their special visitors and also get some goodies at the Scholastic Book Fair, which helps out Irle Elementary's librarian LeAnne Brandt.
"We made just over $12,000 in one day. We will get $6,000 worth of Scholastic books. Our community really steps up to support our kids – we are very blessed," reflected Brandt after the book fair. "It's also pretty special to have PTO, staff and "extra" grandparents willing to buy books."
