Scottie XC Teams Start Season In Billings

The Scottie cross country teams kicked off their 2024 season at the Billings Invitational Aug. 30. The girls team scored 219 points to take ninth place and the boys put up 322 points for 12th place. In JV action, the boys took 10th with 221 points.

The Scottie girls were led by Haleigh Huntsman who ran a 23:15.48 to take 33rd out of 101 runners. Kheyerah Bilger placed 53rd at 24:26.56. Kimber Dulaney ran a 25:17.53 for 64th followed by Jensina Tweten in 65th at 25:24.77. Riley Evenson-Glasoe took 69th with a 25:48.31 time. Mary Dykema finished in 30:36.68 for 98th place. Defending Class B champion Tanae Baker sat out the meet while recovering from an injury.

Kyler Holinde paced the boys team with an 18:14.48 and finished in 23rd out of 124 varsity runners. Jack Milam took 77th with a time of 20:34.45 and Adam Mickelson ran a 20:55.83 for 81st place. Garrett Thompson finished in 88th at 21:14.35. Ted See placed 91st at 21:18.91 and Rowen Kloker ran a 21:20.00 for 93rd place. Timothy Pearson finished right behind in him in 94th with a 21:20.06 time.

Kyler Whitman led the boys JV team with a 47th place showing out of 165 runners with a 21:52.78 time. Jack Miller ran a 22:05.86 for 51st and Gage Larsen took 77th at 23:03.20. Owen Thompson finished in 23:29.44 and 88th place and Aaron Mickelson ran a 25:38.09 or 116th place.

The Scotties will attend the Williston Invitational Saturday, Sept. 14, with races starting at 11 a.m.
