Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

Hitting The Books To Start The Year Off Right

Kids throughout Valley County ended their summer vacations and got back into the school routine last week.

Glasgow Schools students returned to the classroom on Aug. 19, where the younger elementary school students got their picture taken in front of an "Oh The Places You Will Go" background which was put up by the Irle School teachers in the K-1 pod. Incoming sixth-graders at Glasgow Middle School were also welcomed into their new school with their own lockers and the ability to have a number six balloon in celebration.

Frazer School held their Open House on Aug. 20, which allowed students and parents to meet staff and get students acquainted with their classrooms before the first day of school the following day, Aug. 21.

Lustre Grade School and Lustre High School students also went back to the classrooms on Aug. 21, and in addition to welcoming students back into the building, the community also welcomed new staff. For more information on the new staff and the first day of school, see Vivian Wall's Lustre News column.
