Donna Sherwood

Donna Louise (Hockhalter) Sherwood, 65, passed away at her home in Grand Forks, N.D., Thursday August 1, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Donna was born in Glasgow, Mont., on June 3, 1959, to Pete and Violet (Miller) Hockhalter. She graduated from Glasgow High School in 1977.

Donna worked at Johnnie's Cafe in Glasgow before attending Eastern Montana College in Billings Mont. Donna married Michael Sherwood and they moved to Jacksonville, Fla., where her older sister, Evelyn (Hockhalter) Howell, lives. This is where she gave birth to her sons, Michael and Robert.

In 1999 she moved to Grand Forks to be with her sister Gloria (Hockhalter) LaBonte. She worked at Village Inn, Perkins and iHop before retiring due to her health issues.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, working, sudoku puzzles and playing candy crush on her phone.

Donna devoted her life to her children and granddaughter.

Donna is preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Gloria Labonte.

She is survived by her sons, Michael and Robert, both of Grand Forks; granddaughter Amelia; sisters Yevonne (Hockhalter) (Ed) Norcutt, of Glasgow, Evelyn (Hockhalter) (Travis) Howell, of Jacksonville; brother Larry Hockhalter (Barb), of Bismarck, N.D .; brother-in-law Scott Labonte, Grand Fork; nieces Sherry Howell Olson, Shelly Howell, Angie Labonte March, and Jessica Hockhalter Wolff; nephews Ricky Howell, Wayne and Steven Norcutt and Johnathan Labonte; along with numerous friends.

Donna will be greatly missed and forever loved by her family and friends.
