Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

Dennis Wethern

Dennis M. Wethern, 71, of Glasgow, Mont., passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on Monday, July 29, 2024.

Services will be decided at a later date.

Dennis was born in Fort Benton, Mont., to Lucille and Gilbert Wethern, where he was raised with four other siblings. He attended grade school in Geraldine then the family moved to Fort Benton where he attended high school and excelled in football.

Dennis married Connie in 1977 in Shelby, Mont. They finally settled in Glasgow, raising their two children, three grandchildren, and numerous foster children who became family. He worked many jobs in his lifetime including the track crew for the railroad, oil rigs, meat plant, caretaker, school aide, and many more along the way- ending at Milk River where he was a Direct Support Professional.

He was an avid bowhunter and taught bow hunter safety to many in the community. He was a very caring and compassionate person who devoted his life to helping others. He was an EMT serving the community for 20 years.

To know Dennis is to love him. He was the kind of person everyone could count on. Willingly giving his time and love to anyone who needed it. As a collector of many things, if you needed something he surely had it, his motto was "It was a good deal!"

He joins in heaven his mother and father; sister Evelyn Nelson and husband Don Nelson; brother Duane Wethern; brother-in-law Jerry Koch; and daughter Sierra Hanger.

Dennis will be greatly missed by his wife, Connie; children Stephanie (Bruce) Wethern, Marc (Sonja) Wethern, Isaiah Devereaux and Devin Booth; grandchildren Keirsten (Jonathan) Wethern, Jeremiah Wethern, Lucas Wethern and Ava Shultz .; great-grandchild Ezekiel Osborne; sisters Ann Koch and Linda Wethern; and many nieces and nephews.
