For the week of July 22 through 27, there were 20 motor vehicle stops, three reports of loose dogs, one report of a lost dog, one report of loose livestock and three reports of missing dogs.
Monday, July 22
1642 – Reporting party wanted to know if there’s a weed ordinance for the county. She reported a couple of places that have weeds.
1849 – Caller reported her 81-year-old father is missing. She estimates he’s been gone for about 45 minutes. A description of the male was provided. All officers on duty were notified. Later a deputy advised about five minutes ago he saw someone possibly matching the description. The reporting party was able to go to the location and confirm it was her father.
2145 – Caller reported he hit a deer with his motor home. He stopped to pull a piece from the motor home and continued on home. He does not know how much damage there is to the vehicle, money wise. A deputy was able to contact the caller and went to the crash site looking for the deer.
2225 – Caller stated there is a sheriff deputy at the location. She wondered if he could do anything about three kittens in the street so they did not get ran over. She was advised there is no form of animal control out in the county.
Tuesday, July 23
1714 – Caller reported his neighbor has a motor home that’s been parked in the street for a couple of weeks now. The caller believes a ticket should be given. Later, an officer advised he drove by and the motor home is not blocking any driveways and it is parked legally. He will pass on the information in regards to the over due parking.
1946 – A young woman reported a dog is in a fenced area in the alleyway with no water or food in this heat. They have been giving the dog water. At 2006, officer advised he drove by. The dog has water and is in a shaded area. He will give the owner a call.
2340 – A barkeeper reported a verbal fight in the parking lot. Deputy later advised the fight was over when they got there.
Wednesday, July 24
1437 – A fire was reported. Nashua FC was called but didn’t believe anyone could respond so dispatch contacted Long Run Fire At 1446, it was advised the fire was in mop up and the fire was turned over to BIA FD.
1758 – A public assist call was reported. A deputy arrived to assist with a Jeep.
1912 – Caller reported she lost her power and it has been out for about 40 minutes. Dispatch contacted Northwestern Energy and they advised the outage was already reported.
2142 – Caller reported her neighbors are using a fire pit. The caller didn’t know if this would be legal when it’s so hot out. The caller also said they have asthma and can’t open their windows because of the smell. The caller was patched through to a deputy.
Thursday, July 25
0108 – Deputy advised there is an open door at the school. Two deputies cleared the building and secured the door.
1135 – A public assist call was recorded. Deputy advised the subject was just checking his cargo on top of his vehicle.
1410 – Caller stated she is behind a vehicle that has an older lady driving. The driver had gone off the road several times. She speeds up and then slows down. A description of the vehicle was provided and a plate number. The caller stated she would be willing to sign a complaint and has a short video of the vehicle going off the road. An officer requested a county officer to see if they would like to cite the individual.
1720 – Reporting party said there’s a vacant lot that has a well pit that’s been uncovered for three weeks now. He doesn’t know who the lot belongs to but is concerned about children and animals falling into the well.
1755 – Caller reported he found an electric flaying knife at the fish cleaning station at the Pines. He requested that if anyone reports loosing it, to call his cell to identify it.
2011 – Caller reported that about five minutes ago she saw a truck with a big white thing (possibly construction equipment) headed westbound. She said it’s shooting out sparks from underneath. A deputy and Phillips County Sheriff’s Office was notified.
2022 – Caller reported the fire from July 24, 1437, started up again. Nashua Fire was paged and Long Run was paged.
2320 – A building check call was recorded. Per deputy, the building was clear.
Friday, July 26
1107 – Officer advised a male was nearly hit when he was on his bike. Officer provided the license plate of the vehicle.
1231 – Reporting party called in stating her daughter is missing. She was last seen July 14. She went to her daughter’s residence and found her bedroom all tore up. The caller also stated she talked to a female, who stated the female was seen about eight days ago at the Casino when she came in and tried to sell beaded earrings. Another sighting was also reported where the female was seen on July 14 going westbound and it looked like she had all her possessions with her.
1747 – Deputy advised he received a complaint from one of the campers, stated they reported someone tried to break into their pickup around 5 a.m.
1826 – Caller said he wants to set up a tent but there’s a Ford parked in front of the business that’s locked up. He wanted to know if there’s anyway to contact the owner. A deputy was notified.
1921 – Caller reported he believes he’s being scammed. A person who identified himself as a Sgt. advised the caller didn’t show up for jury duty so he needs to bring bond. An officer stopped in to speak with the caller.
1953 – Reporting party said she’s with a male at a residence. The evidence tape on the screen door is broke. She also said the person who lives at that address is in tribal jail.
2003 – An officer reported being out with a vehicle in the break down lane.
Saturday, July 27
0048 – Reporting party stated a suspect came in drunk on her 21st birthday to say hello to her grandmother. They then proceeded to trash the place by tossing toilet paper all over the bathroom and plugging the toilet up with it. There is also a bunch of food from the refrigerator on the floor for the dogs to eat and the grill is dumped over in the driveway.
0202 – Reporting party stated they saw someone with a flashlight going through the vacant houses. Deputy advised someone was out looking for a vehicle so it was probably what the reporting party saw.
1907 – Caller requested an officer to remove a male who is intoxicated. He has already broken a tv and chased out the property owner’s sons, who are minors. There are no weapons or injuries.
