Law Enforcement Report

For the week of June 16 through 23, there were six motor vehicle stops, one report of a missing dog, five reports of loose livestock and three reports of dog bites.

For the week of June 24 through 29, there were 20 motor vehicle stops, four reports of loose livestock, three reports of loose dogs, one request for a VIN inspection, three reports for a building check, two reports of a deer being hit by a vehicle, and two public assist calls that did not have any further information provided.

Tuesday, June 18

2232 – Reporting party said he saw a black streak go fast across the sidewalk. He looked outside and saw a male get into the van. Supposedly the man got into a fight with his girlfriend around the corner. The man then left and started walking to the playground area. The reporting party now said there’s noise coming from the sheds behind his house.

Wednesday, June 19

1242 – It was reported there was some damage to the field at Sullivan. A vehicle was spinning broadies and tore up the grass next to the softball fields.

1134 – Caller stated he is the property manager and they have not been able to make contact with the renter for quite a while now. The caller states he has been out there has been out there multiple times with no sighting of the renter. When they try to call the renter, a woman answers the phone, asks who is calling and then hangs up. He states there are three dogs in the backyard that have no food or water so today he fed and provided water to them. He feels they have been abandoned because no one is there and they haven’t been able to make contact with the renter for a long time. The caller also stated they called the water department and told them they are getting ready to shut off the water as the bill hasn’t been paid in months. Deputy tried contacting the renter several times. The dogs have food and water, and the neighbor will keep an eye on the dogs for now.

1146 – Reporting party called stating there is a trailer in the underpass that looks like they need help backing out.

1500 – Caller stated she needs an officer to her residence. She just got home and found people in the bed. They are not supposed to be there. The door was locked when she left but they got in anyway. Deputy was able to make contact with both subjects and informed them they are not welcome back at the residence. The reporting party did not want to press charges.

1518 – Caller reported that on Saturday a male parked a single vehicle with a small trailer at the location. It has now been 11 days and has not been able to find the owner. An officer was able to speak with the registered owner and there are some mechanical problems with the truck. He is working on getting it fixed and then will move it.

2049 – Caller said her ex son-in-law is dating a female and the female is supposed to be on probation for two years. She said some people saw her at the movie theatre tonight and she appeared to be under the influence.

Thursday, June 20

0025 – Reporting party stated he and his dad were trying to get stuff into the camper so that he can leave. He said that a female was upset that he was leaving, making comments saying that she cannot trust him. He just wants to leave and be done with the situation. Dispatch asked if they wanted to speak to an officer. The caller didn’t want to, but did want law enforcement to be aware.

1605 – Reporting party advised the traffic lights are out. MT DOT was notified.

1618 – Caller reported a Jeep that just went westbound through Glasgow doing about 70 miles per hour. The caller stated the vehicle almost caused three to four accidents. The caller was willing to sign a complaint.

1834 – Caller reported he found a nest of baby birds in his hitch. He is unable to reach Fish and Game and doesn’t know what to do with them. Dispatch tried Fish and Game and contacted a deputy. It was advised to move the nest to the side. Fish and Game did call Dispatch back and advised moving the nest was the best thing to do as well.

1852 – Caller reported someone used to live at a nearby trailer. She was told there’s dead cats in the residence and some live dogs. Someone shows up about once a week to look after the animals. The last time someone was there, a dog escaped and she almost ran it over. A deputy was patched through. The male owner was contacted and stated there are three dogs inside, but no dead cats. The male said they have food, water and are taking care of them daily.

1919 – Dispatch received a recorded message stating the owner of an Apple Watch took a hard fall and is not responding. A male then came on the line, stating he tripped and couldn’t get his phone to stop. He’s not injured and apologized for the call.

2101 – Caller reported he clipped his air conditioner on the underpass as he was going through it.

2329 – A public assist call was recorded. A deputy responded and the people were just driving around.

Friday, June 21

1545 – Caller advised on the south side of their property is a fence that belongs to the railroad. It is in bad need of repair. They have just turned out their cattle there and so they need to get the fence fixed so their cattle doesn’t get hit by the trains coming through. Dispatch called BNSF RR and was transferred to the maintenance department. They said they do not put-up fences anymore but will supply the materials. The reporting party’s phone numbers were provided as well as the address of the property. Dispatch contacted the reporting party back with the information.

2214 – Caller is reporting a guest that has had too much to drink and is being aggressive toward other family members. They are all there for a memorial.

Saturday, June 22

0957 – The reporting party’s ex came into the place where the reporting party works and resides, creating a scene yelling. It was so much of a scene; it scared her co-worker. She would like to speak to an officer concerning the ex’s behavior. There is no protection order and she is working on trying to work things out. The call information was passed along to an officer who will speak with the reporting party.

1809 – Store employee called to report a drive off heading west towards Saco. A description of the vehicle was provided. Phillips County was also notified.

1839 – A caller stated her car had been hit overnight and had white paint as well as a scuff on the car. Officer advised them to come into dispatch and get a white form. The form is then turned into the insurance as the vehicle has been moved.

1957 – Caller stated that unlicensed motorcycles and ATVs have been speeding past her house right around 1900 hours. It has been going on for quite a while. A deputy was notified who spoke with a male, who stated they were on the road for a short time. Deputy informed the male there typically isn’t issues with just crossing the road to get to an area to ride but if complaints continue then law enforcement will have to enforce the non-registered vehicles.

Sunday, June 23

0151 – Deputy reported a deer on the west side of the road about a mile south of the Milk River Bridge.

0156 – Reporting party heard screaming from six to seven houses down the street. He took off down there after hearing a woman and children screaming. It stopped when he got down the street. At 0247, per deputy, the source was found. The mom had headphones and didn’t hear the child screaming. Everything is okay.

Monday, June 24

1044 – A male caller, who wished to remain anonymous, called stating there is a red vehicle that has crossed over the center line, hit the ditch, then got back on the road. He believes she should be checked out. He is not willing to sign a complaint. A deputy arrived on scene, patrolled to MT 117 and was unable to locate the vehicle.

Tuesday, June 25

1436 – Reporting party called stating a black van passed him and almost caused a head on collision. He provided a direction of travel. He stated he would sign a complaint. A deputy arrived on scene and located the possible vehicle.

1858 – Reporting party stated she sees three cars that are parked behind other vehicles at Sullivan Park. She wanted to know if plate numbers were provided, could dispatch provide who the vehicles belong to. She then said people are leaving so they could maybe get out. The caller didn’t want an officer to come out and cause a scene. As dispatch was explaining they could not run license plates for the public, the caller hung up.

2220 – An officer advised he stopped off at a location because he saw a vehicle and there has been issues with vandalism in the past so he stopped by. The officer was told by the male that someone posted on Facebook there was a mountain lion and was showing the officer the post.

Wednesday, June 26

0141 – A public assist call was recorded. Everything is okay. The individual was just looking for Wi-Fi.

1104 – Reporting party called stating people left a message on her machine indicating she needs to pay them $1,500 for security protection on her computer. She said the email address they have was an old address. She also doesn’t have a computer anymore. She didn’t provide the caller with any of her information.

Thursday, June 27

1314 – Reporting party called stating she has been in a minor fender bender. There are no injuries. The description of both vehicles was provided. An officer did cite for no proof of insurance.

1402 – Reporting party called stating she saw on her online credit card account a charge for $99.99. She went online to report the false charge and a person got online and told her there is another charge for $499. Then she received a call from “Gavin,” and she explained the charges. He then told her there is also another charge through PayPal for $200 and they are going to transfer that back to her. She waited a little bit, and “Gavin” came back on and told her they made a mistake and put $20,000 back in her account so they needed her to go to the bank and reimburse them for $18,000. She then called her bank, told them about the situation where it was found money was taken from accounts. The bank then proceeded to freeze her accounts. The entire situation ended up being a scam and dispatch provided the caller with information, also stating a deputy would call her about this. After getting off the phone with dispatch, the caller called dispatch back stating now the scammers are calling her nonstop on the phone. The caller also provided the phone number the individual was using.

1836 – Caller reported there is a pickup behind them that is driving in the wrong lane. A description of the vehicle was provided but did not get a plate number. Later the caller called back stating the driver just drove into a ditch and then turned around. A description of the driver was provided. A deputy located the vehicle later on and observed driving behavior. The deputy was able to pull the vehicle over and there were no signs of impairment. A verbal warning was provided for an open container.

Friday, June 28

0134 – Caller reported a male who is in there often, is acting weird, stating he did something weird to his brother and has a gun in the car. The reporting party also likely hit a deer or something as there are entrails and blood on the vehicle and the street. The male is currently at the location and a description was provided. Another caller also reported the male is out kicking his car. An officer arrived and it was determined he did hit a deer as there was fresh blood on the vehicle. He is going to sleep in his car tonight as his employer is going to put him up at a motel the next day. There was no signs of impairment or any suicidal tendencies, he was just frustrated with hitting the deer and being stuck sleeping in his vehicle.

0556 – A suspicious vehicle was reported. A car was parked on the sidewalk by a business.

0654 – A caller reported a motor vehicle accident and a vehicle is partially in the intersection. There is no one around. An officer arrived who provided a description of the suspect vehicle and the other vehicle involved. Officer was able to locate the residence of the suspect vehicle.

0824 – Reporting party called to report two vehicles with ND plates just passed him going towards Wolf Point. He states they were going at least 100 MPH. The number was provided to RCSO dispatch.

1325 – Reporting party called in a vehicle that appears to be stuck in the southbound lane just north of MM 4 on MT Highway 24N. A description of the vehicle was provided. Reporting party also states it is on the wrong side of the hill so if you try to pass and someone is coming the other way, they will not see you. A deputy arrived on scene and was unable to locate the vehicle.

1641 – A caller reported they’re concerned about a man that’s sitting on the southeast corner of the school. A description of the male was provided. The man is throwing things up in the air, stomping on it and then putting the things in his pocket. The reporting party is concerned about their vehicles because as they are getting on a bus to go to the Theatre with the kids. A deputy was notified. Later the reporting party stated the man is now trying to pull a pole out of the ground. At 1716, deputy stated he saw a man in town with another male. They were walking in a field on the east side of town but it doesn’t look like they’re doing anything wrong.

2244 – Caller has a very drunk gentleman and would like someone to escort him out.

2357 – A public assist call was recorded. According to a deputy, the ignition is torn out of a vehicle and the blinker is laying on the seat. It was confirmed not to be stolen with RCSO. The registered owner died last winter. Deputy wants to check and see if there are any relatives to see what they want done so the vehicle is no longer abandoned out there.

Saturday, June 29

0032 – Deputy saw someone walking as he was getting back to his car. The deputy will speak with the individual. The person doesn’t seem to be involved with the car from the call at 2357.

1915 – A recording was received on 911 that the owner of the phone was in a severe car wreck and cannot answer the phone. The coordinates were provided. Officers were notified and were unable to locate the emergency.
