Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913
The historic Montana Bar has recently undergone a significant facelift, thanks to the collaborative efforts of Two Rivers Economic Growth and the Glasgow Downtown Signage grant program, generously underwritten by Prairie House Gardens. This initiative is part of the broader Valley County Storefront Beautification grant program.
Lana Monson, the proprietor of the Montana Bar, applied for the grant with the vision of revitalizing the bar's iconic but faded sign. Her goal was to breathe new life into the historic sign with vibrant, updated colors, enhancing the visual appeal of the building and Front Street for both the local community and tourists.
Monson expressed her enthusiasm about the project, stating, "This upgrade will add curb appeal to the building as well as beautify the historic appeal of Front Street in general." To bring her vision to life, she enlisted the talents of local artist Cathryne McIntyre, who restored the sign with striking black and red hues.
Office Manager at Two Rivers Economic Growth Shyanne Wallace shared her pride in the project, noting, "Two Rivers is so proud to be able to offer these grants to the community. The updated sign at the Montana Bar not only adds curb appeal, but the color scheme is resonant with hometown pride."
The restored sign now stands as a testament to the collaborative spirit of the Glasgow community and its commitment to preserving and enhancing its historic charm. This project not only brightens up Front Street but also underscores the importance of supporting local businesses and artists in keeping the town's heritage alive and vibrant.
