GKST Dive Into 2024 Season

The Glasgow Kiwanis Swim Team, in their second summer without a pool, continue to face and rise above challenges. When plans for practices at the Wolf Point pool were delayed, the Thunder rolled on. "The Wolf Point pool wasn't quite ready this week, so Poplar generously opened their doors to the Glasgow Kiwanis Swim Team," Michelle Huntsman told the Courier following the first meet of the year in Plentywood held June 8 and 9. "We continue to thank Glasgow and the surrounding communities for their support as we anxiously await the new pool!"

The Thunder brought home several first place finishes from Plentywood and Jack Miller tied for high points in the 13-14 boys age group with wins in the 200 free and 100 butterfly.Molly Miller won the girls 9-10 breaststroke and Wade Fuhrman won the boys 11-12 breaststroke. Holt Huntsman swam away with the boys 13-14 100 free while Haleigh Huntsman took the girls 13-14 100 back.

"We had an amazing start to the year. For the first meet everyone swam good technique and mostly swam almost their times that they swam at the state meet last year," Head Coach Ethan Shrader said. "I am happy and excited to see where this year will take us from this starting point."

The Glasgow Thunder attended the Chinook Invitational June 15 and 16. Results will be in next week's Courier.

The Thunder will attend the Harlem Invitational this Saturday and Sunday, June 22-23.
