Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913
Anna "Anne" L. Huebert, age 99 of Glendive, Mont., passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at the Glendive Medical Center Extended Care.
Anna was born on March 7, 1925, in Lustre, Mont., to Jacob and Sara (Dick) Huebert and grew up on her parent's homestead in Lustre. She was the youngest of nine children. She received her early education in public school and Lustre Bible School. She enjoyed helping with outdoor work and was fond of animals, especially horses. Anna was an active member of the Bethel Mennonite Church and sang in the choir. Anna furthered her education by obtaining her LPN degree in Omaha, Neb., in 1957 after which she returned to Montana to begin a long career in nursing. She also made time to care for her widowed mother and later her brother, George, when the need arose.
Anna was an energetic, fun-loving and family oriented individual. She was known for hosting large family gatherings, although she much preferred being an "out-going" cook. She took a special interest in her 27 nieces and nephews and families, always praying for them. Anna also enjoyed traveling. Some highlights were spending some time in Norway with a friend, going with a tour group to Hawaii, and also flying to Fresno, Calif., to visit relatives. She loved doing word puzzles in the newspaper and scrabble, and up words. Anna loved walking fast, playing her organ and singing for her Lord.
Anna's faith in the Lord was firm. She had accepted the Lord as her Savior at a young age and desired others would also do so. Her family and friends will miss her but rejoice that she is now in her heavenly home.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by 27 nieces and nephews.
Visitation was from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. with a funeral service at 2 p.m., on June 3, at the Silha Funeral Home in Glendive with Pastor Tim Wyrick officiating.
Interment is in the Dawson Memorial Cemetery. Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Memorials in Anna's name are suggested to the Lustre High School in Lustre, or the Little White Chapel in Glendive.
