Serving Proudly As The Voice Of Valley County Since 1913

Alive At Five Fire Truck Pull Competitions

The first of four Alive @ Five events is scheduled for Wednesday, June 19 by the Nemont offices. At this year’s events will be a fire truck pull competition instead of the Hot Dog eating competition.

Milk River Inc. has put together a four-part series of fire truck pulls to crown a champion team. Teams will be comprised of eight team members and one Milk River Stars athlete. The goal is to pull a fire truck seventy-five feet faster than your opponent. The winners from the first three events will move on to a final pull in September.

June’s event features firefighters from the city and Long Run Fire departments taking on the law enforcement members of Valley County. Team Fire Department will have Isaiah Devereaux on it, and the Law Enforcement team will have Shaundel Alexander on their team.

July’s battle will feature a Glasgow High School student team taking on a team of students from Valley County (Lustre Christian, Nashua, Opheim, Hinsdale and Frazer).

August will have teams from FMDH and the Glasgow Area of Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture.

The Alive @ Five events are sponsored by the Glasgow Downtown Association and run from 5 to 8 p.m. on the third Wednesday of the month. The fire truck pull will start at 7 p.m.
