Lustre Boys Third At State Track

Hinsdale Boys and Girls Both Score Team Points

The Lustre boys track team put up 42 points at the MHSA Class C State Track & Field Meet in Great Falls to take third place. Lustre finished behind Belt, 67, and Manhattan Christian, 56, at the meet held May 24 and 25. The Lions set three personal records and one season record in Great Falls.

Hinsdale put up points in both the boys and girls competitions. The Raider boys team had 6 points to end in four-way tie for 23rd while the girls finished in a three-way tie for 26th place with 3 points.

Frazer

Gabe Beston, Joseph Beston and Ty Fourstar competed for the Bearcubs boys at the final meet of the season. Beston placed 23rd in the 1600 meters with a 5:22.79 time. Beston finished 21st in the shot put with a 37'4.25 throw. Fourstar jumped 18'1.25 in the long jump for 24th place.

Nashua

Katey Dykstra represented the Nashua girls team while Charlie Kaasa, Caden Laumeyer, Grady Nielsen and Damon Adkins participated for the Porcupine boys.

Dykstra ran a 14.32 in the 100 meters prelims for 23rd place and took 22nd in the 200 meters prelims with a 29.12 time.

Kaasa ran an 11:41.58 to finish 24th in the 3200 meters.

Laumeyer threw 41'10 in the shot put to finish in 12th while Nielsen took 22n with a 36'10.5 throw. In the discus Nielsen hit a personal best 130'8 to finish in 11th place. Laumeyer took 14th at 126-8 and Adkins threw 97'5 for 22nd place. Adkins placed 15th in the javelin with a 132'9 throw.

Hinsdale

Kade Strommen competed for the Raider boys while the girls were represented by Zora Holt, CharLee McColly and BaiLee McColly.

Strommen earned a spot on the podium with a third place showing in the pole vault. He cleared 12'0 to earn points for Hinsdale.

Holt scored points for the Hinsdale girls with a fifth place showing in the 3200 meters. She ran a 12:34.61, a personal record for the senior. Holt ran a 6:04.14 in the 1600 meters for 17th place.

C. McColly also scored points for Hinsdale with a sixth place finish in the shot put. She threw 34'8.5 for a spot on the podium.

B. McColly finished in a five-way tie for seventh place in the high jump after clearing 5'0. She took 12th in the javelin with a 102'1 throw.

Lustre

Terran Joseph, Diek Olfert, Prestyn Klatt, Johnslee Pierre, Emeka Aniobi, Brian Guedes, Byron Ewing and Cam Reddig represented the Lions in the boys competition at State.

Joseph brought home an individual title in the 200 meters. He won the prelims at 22.95 and cut his time to 22.64 – a personal record – in the finals for the Lions win. Joseph also earned points in the 100 meters with a fourth place finish at 11.58. He ran an 11.78 to tie for sixth in the prelims. Joseph just missed the podium in the 400 meters, running a 51.87 for seventh place.

Olfert ran a 2:15.26 in the 800 meters for 20th place. Klatt placed 15th in the 1600 meters at 4:57.42. He just missed the podium in the 3200 meters, finishing in seventh at 10:31.21, a personal record.

Pierre ran a season best 40.17 in the 300m hurdles to take third place and put up points for the Lions.

Both relay teams earned team points for Lustre. Aniobi, Pierre, Guedes and Joseph took fifth place in the 4x100 relay. They ran a 44.71 in the finals, improving from 45.21 (and fifth) in the prelims. Guedes, Ewing, Joseph and Pierre claimed third place in the 4x400 relay with a 3:31.16 time.

Pierre hit a personal best in the long jump at 21'6.25 for second place and more points for the Lions. Guedes placed 19th with a 19'2.25 jump.

Pierre also earned a spot on the podium in the triple jump. He put up a distance of 43'4.75 for third place. Reddig finished in 22nd place at 37'1.

The Lions lose Terran Joseph to graduation. Hinsdale's Holt also graduated, the only senior on the Raiders team. Nashua loses Laumeyer and Adkins to graduation. Beston and Fourstar competed in their final track meet for Frazer as seniors this year.
