Area Students Achieve Superior Rating At State Music Festival

After achieving the highest rating of Superior during the District 12/13 Music Festival in Culbertson at the end of April, vocal and band students from Glasgow, Lustre, Hinsdale and Nashua School traveled to Billings at the beginning of May to participate in the State Music Festival on May 3 and 4.

Nashua:

Under the direction of Melissa Mickelson, Nashua's band and choir director, these students achieved the following ratings:

Nashua senior Caden Laumeyer – Superior Rating for his solo saxophone

Nashua sophomore Allison "Allie" Greenough – Superior Rating for her solo vocal

Hinsdale:

Under the direction of Hinsdale High School's Heidi Johnson, these students achieved the following ratings:

Jazz Band – Excellent Rating

Senior Andrew Boucher – Superior Rating for his vocal solo

Senior Zora Holt – Superior Rating for her clarinet solo

Lustre Christian High School

Under the direction of Melissa Marasco and Merideth Reddig, the following Lustre Christian High School students achieved Superior ratings:

Rachel Pew/Anna Teichroew - Vocal Duet

LCHS Trumpet Trio - Grace Brown, Abby Olfert, Diek Olfert

While Katie Calderon - Vocal Solo received a High Two rating.

Also, under the direction of Mickelson, who is Glasgow schools vocal director, Glasgow had 11 performances, which included some choir, duets and solos. All those who attended, which included the below students, received Superior ratings in their performances.
