Lana Mason and John Yeska participated in the Junior High Academic Olympics at the beginning of April. They were a team of two competing against teams of five. Lana placed seventh in science and eighth in English. As a team they finished first in the oral competition.

In High School Academic Olympics, Aliah Batalla placed sixth place in English and Billy Still placed third place in science, fourth place in math, second place in English and third place in Social Studies. Still also received overall ninth grade academic excellence.

Opheim Band students participate in the District 12 Music Festival held in Culbertson on April 19 and 20. Billy Still played the alto sax solo “Bourse ” and received a rating of 1.

Anthony Landles played a trumpet solo “Wooden Shoe Dance” and received a rating of 1.

The Opheim Band consisting of five members, Billy Still, Anthony Landles, Aliah Batalla, John Yeska and Lana Mason, played two selections “Still, Still, Still” and “This Train” and received a rating of 1 on both pieces. They also received a 1 on their sight reading. Landles and Still both qualified for the State Music Festival in Billings.
