Scottie Golf Swing Towards Divisionals

Boys Take Home First In Malta While Girls Bring Home Second

The Scottie golf team hit three meets last week. Glasgow was at the Shelby Invitational April 22, hosted the Glasgow Golf Invitational April 26, and attended the Malta Invitational April 27.

The Glasgow boys took third in Shelby behind Conrad and Malta while the girls finished fourth behind Broadwater, Malta and Fairfield. The Scottie boys finished second at home behind Conrad and the girls took third behind Malta and Fairfield again. In Malta the Glasgow boys won, beating Malta, Poplar, Chinook and Harlem. The girls finished second behind Malta.

Hank Hopstad led the Scottie boys in Shelby, shooting an 88, +16, for eighth place. Carter Hoerster tied for ninth at 17 over par, shooting an 89.

Eli Feezell shot a 92, +20, to tie for 16th followed by Connor Koski who tied for 18th at 94, +22. Coy Nelson shot a 103, +31, to finish in a four-way tie for 35th place.

Mia Peterson paced the girls with a 109, +37, and a tie for 11th place. Laynee Simpson shot a 111, +39, for 14th place followed by Annika Smith in 17th at 120, +48.

Allie Palm shot a 128, +56, to take 26th. Aspen Probert's 143, +71, put her in 30th place.

In Glasgow, Feezell and Koski led the Scottie boys in a tie for fifth place. Both shot 87s, +15. Hopstad shot an 89, +17, to tie for ninth.

Hoerster tied for 11th at 92, +20. Nelson ended in another four-way tie for 16th place after shooting a 94, +22.

Peterson led the girls, tying for second after shooting a 98, +26. Palm shot a 109, +37, for a 10th-place tie.

Simpson took 13th place at 116, +44. Smith and Probert tied for 17th after both shot 126s, +54.

In JV boys action, Tayven Bietz took third at 107, +35. Cody Kuka shot a 109, +37, for fourth followed by Drew Simensen in sixth with a 114, +42.

Amelia Gilchrist led the JV girls with a 132, +60. Dylon Murch followed her in second with a 134,+62, and Mylee Rasmusan shot a 152,+80, for third place.

In Malta, Nelson, Feezell and Hopstad shot 88s, +16, to finish in a five-way tie for second. Hoerster took ninth with a 97, +25, while Koski shot a 102, +30, for a tie in 13th place.

Simpson led the Scottie girls in third place and a 107, +35. Peterson took fifth at 110, +38, followed by Palm in sixth at 118, +46. Probert shot a 126, +54 for seventh while Smith took eighth with a 133, +61.

Gilchrist and Rasmusen took first and second in girls JV with a 134, +62, and a 149, +77, respectively.

The Scotties were back in Shelby April 29 for the Class B Team Challenge but scores were unavailable at press time.

Glasgow will attend the Poplar Invitational in Wolf Point Thursday, May 2.
