Boys Score 101, Girls 102
Both the Scottie boys and girls track teams won the Baker Invitational, beating out 19 other schools for the top slot. Vaughn Miller, Khy Gamas and Kyler Holinde earned first place finishes to lead the boys while Haleigh Huntsman, Tanae Baker and Mayzie Yoakam topped the podium on the girls side.
GIRLS
Tanae Baker won the 1600 meters with a time of 5:26.33 and qualified for the State Meet, her second state qualification in as many meets. Emily See placed second, out of 21 runners, at 5:39.53. Huntsman set a personal record with a time of 6:06.84 and came in sixth place. Kheyerah Bilger placed ninth with at ime of 6:33.13.
Huntsman won the 3200 meters at 13:44.61, beating out three other racers.
Yoakam won the pole vault with a personal record of 9-09.00 while Eve Stone tied for second at 9-06.00, out of 12 competitors. Both qualified for the State Meet at the end of the season with the heights. Ellie Tryan cleared 6-00.00 for a tie at 11th place.
Stone also placed in the high jump, taking fourth out of 11 jumpers at 4-08.00. Kimber Dulaney hit 4-06.00 for sixth place while Ava Runner tied for seventh place with a height of 4-04.00.
Joely Chappell led the girls in the triple jump, placing second out of 14 with a distance of 32-10.50. Runner jumped 30-00.00 for fifth place.
Chappell also led the Scottie girls in the long jump, taking 11th place out of 41, with a distance of 14-09.00. Stone jumped 14-02.00 for 15th place while Runner was right behind her in 16th with a jump of 14-01.50.
In the shot put, Hannah Holinde led the way with a second place finish, out of 36 competitors, at 33-03.00. Yoakam threw 29-09.50 for eighth place and Molly Whitmer placed 31st with a 20-09.50 throw.
Holinde threw87-02 in the discus and placed seventh out of 43. Paityn Britzman threw 74-00 for 16th place. Whitmer finished in 23rd at 69-06 while Lacey White threw 54-05 for 36th place.
Abigial Kulczyk threw 65-02 in the javelin for 15th place out of 31 while White took 18th with a 63-06 throw. Runner finished in 21st at 60-03 and Britzman threw 48-11 for 27th place.
See led the Glasgow girls in the 800 meters, placing fourth out of 28 runners with a 2:37.28 time. Dulaney finished in eighth with a time of 2:44.32. Riley Evenson-Glasoe ran a 2:53.28 for 11th while Bilger finished 13th at 2:55.01.
Gina Page paced Glasgow in the 400 meters, taking second place out of 21, with a time of 1:06.34. Kulczyk placed 11th with a time of 1:13.18.
Page also led the team in the 200 meters, taking fifth out of 41, at 27.94. Kaylly Turner ran a 30.66 for 14th followed by Kulczyk in 16th at 30.91. Tryan took 20th at 21.87 and Britzman ran a 34.52 for 35th place.
In the 100 meters, Page took 11th out of 50 runners, finishing in 13.65. Chappell was right behind her in 12th place at 13.70 and Turner took 17th at 14.41. Chezney Olson took 32nd with a time of 15.38 and White ran a 16.39 for 44th place.
Yoakam finished second, out of 13, in the 100m hurdles at 17.13 and fourth, also out of 13, in the 300m hurdles at 53.33. Runner took ninth in the 100m at 19.74.
Baker, Bilger, Dulaney and Evenson-Glasoe had a time of 4:44.29 in the 4x400 relay for second place out of 12 teams.
BOYS
Miller won the discus and javelin in Baker, qualifying for the State Meet in both. He won the javelin with a personal best 168-02, beating out 38 other competitors. He also set a personal record in the discus with a throw of 147-07, beating out 52 other tracksters.
Nick Solorzano took fifth in the javelin with a throw of 135-04 followed by Myles Yoakam in ninth at 130-10. Connor Whitmer finished 36th at 57-04.
Connor Hudyma took fifth in the discus with a 128-04 distance. Wyatt Babb threw 123-00 for seventh place and Cade Hudyma took eighth with a 119-11 distance. M. Yoakam threw 108-10 for 11th place.
Miller also set a personal record in the shot put, throwing 40-06.50 and taking fourth out of 53 competitors. Connor Hudyma was directly behind him in fifth at 40-00.50. Cade Hudyma threw 38-08.00 for ninth place. Jacob Potter finished in 39th at 28-00.00 and Braxton Potter threw 27-07.00 for 44th place.
Solorzano led the boys in the pole vault, clearing 12-00.00 to place third out of 10 jumpers. Adam Mickelson placed fifth with a height of 11-00.00 and Gage Larsen cleared 7-06.00 for ninth place.
Kyler Whitman placed eighth, out of 38, in the long jump with an 18.06.50 distance. Solorzano placed ninth at 18-04.50 and Liam Chapman jumped 17-05.00 for 17th place.
Whitman cleared 5-02.00 in the high jump to take 12th place out of 14 competitors.
Babb led the Scottie boys in the 100 meters with a time of 12.21 and a 10th place finish out of 58 runners. Whitman placed 12th at 12.35. Toryn Richards ran a 12.54 for 23rd and Wyatt Sugg toook 28th at 12.82. Andrew Linder finished in 14.69 and 52nd place.
Gamas won the 200 meters with a time of 23.62. Whitman ran a 24.60 for seventh place out of 43 runners. Dillon Hughes placed 24th at 26.15, followed by Cade Hudyma in 26th at 26.25 and Sugg in 27th at 26.29.
Chapman led the Scotties in the 400 meters with a time of 58.10 and 12th place out of 29 competitors. Sugg finished in 17th at 1:00.26. Hughes ran a 1:01.43 for 20th followed by Larsen in 22nd at 1:02.59.
Holinde placed second out of 30 in the 800 meters with a time of 2:10.49. Timothy Pearson ran a 2:38.67 for 24th place.
Holinde won the 1600 meters with a time of 4:47.15, beating 29 other runners. Pearson ran a 6:01.77 for 24th followed by Rowen Kloker in 25th at 6:03.87.
Gamas ran a 17.51 for second out of 11 in the 110m hurdles. Mickelson placed fourth at 17.91 and Michael King took eighth at 19.18.
Gamas beat 13 other hurdlers in the 300m with a time of 43.18. Mickelson ran a 45.63 for third while King took sixth at 46.52. Larsen finished in 12th place with a 52.47 time.
In the 4x100 relay, Gamas, Solorzano, Whitman and Babb combined for a time of 46.07 and third place out of eight teams. Holinde, Mickelson, Kloker and Pearson finished ninth out of nine in the 4x400 relay with a time of 4:14.55.
The Scotties will attend the Sidney Invitational Saturday, April 20. Underclassmen are scheduled for the Scobey Froshmore Meet in Wolf Point Tuesday, April 23.
