Scottie Boys and Girls Take Third at Fergus Invite

Both the Glasgow boys and girls track and field teams took third place at the Fergus Invite in Lewistown April 4 in their season start. The Scottie boys scored 43.5 points to place behind Laurel, 116, and Havre, 58 points. The Glasgow girls put up 63.33 points, finishing behind Havre, 124, and Laurel, 89.

Boys

Vaughn Miller won the javelin with a throw of 157-03, outdistancing 82 other competitors. Myles Yoakam set a personal record at 119-02 and finished in 20th place. Nick Solorzano finished in 27th with a distance of 112-06 and Noah Runner threw 101-01 for 37th place.

Miller also led the Scottie boys in the discus, finishing in second place out of 68, with a throw of 133-00. Connor Hudyma threw 121-10 for fourth place. Yoakam took ninth with a personal best 116-09 and Cade Hudyma finished in 10th with a 113-05 throw. Braxton Potter took 58th place with a 59-08 distance.

Cade Hudyma finished 16th out of 93 in the shot put with a throw of 38-01.50. Miller set a personal record at 37-11.00 and finished in 18th place. Connor Hudyma was right behind Miller in 19th at 37-07.00. Yoakam threw a personal best 34-04.00 for 30th place. Wyatt Sugg set a personal best at 31-07.00 for 42nd place. Michael King took 45th at 31-00.00 and Jacob Potter threw a personal best 27-09.50 for 67th place. B. Potter took 80th at 24-05.00.

Kyler Whitman and Tavin Boland took 11th and 15th, respectively, out of 28 in the high jump. Whitman cleared 5-06.00 and Boland set a personal record at 5-04.00.

Solorzano took fifth out of 19 in the pole vault with a height of 10-06.00. He also led the Scottie boys in the long jump with a distance of 18-03.50. He finished in eighth place out of 72 competitors. Runner finished in 41st with a jump of 116-01.00.

Wyatt Babb finished 27th, out of 121 runners, in the 100 meters with a time of 12. 25. Whitman ran a 12.40 for 36th place and Solorzano took 49th at 12.56. Sugg set a personal record at 12.78 for 60th place. Yoakam ran a 13.39, a personal best, for 94th place. Trey Graham and Andrew Linder finished in 116th and 117th, respectively, with times of 14.66 and 14.85.

Whitman led the Scotties in the 200 meters with a personal best time of 25.06 and 18th place, out of 85 runners. Cade Hudyma took 44th with at ime of 26.44 and Sugg ran a 26.75 for 47th place. In the 400 meters Gage Larsen ran a 1:03.37 for 43rd place out of 52 runners.

Kyler Holinde took third place out of 44 runners in the 800 meters with a time of 2:06.23. Boland ran a 2:11.03 for fourth place. Timothy Pearson and Rowen Kloker took 41st and 43rd, respectively, with times of 2:42.71 and 2:44.41.

Holinde also led the team in the 1600 meters, taking eighth out of 40 at 4:48.65. Kloker and Pearson finished in 6:21.11 and 6:28.11, respectively for 36th and 38th place.

Khye Gamas took fourth out of 17 in the 110m hurdles with a time of 17.74 while Adam Mickelson set a personal record at 19.13 and finished in 11th place. Gamas also placed fourth, out of 32, in the 300m hurdles, finishing in 43.34. Larsen took 10th with a time of 46.46. Mickelson ran a 48.51 for 15th place and King took 24th at 51.76.

Gamas, Graham, Whitman and Babb combined for a 47.19 and 10th place, out of 18 teams, in the 4x100 relay. In the 4x400 relay, Boland, Gamas, Holinde and Chapman took fifth out of 15 teams with a time of 3:42.70.

Girls

Mayzie Yoakam won the pole vault after clearing 8-06.00. She beat out 13 other competitors. Ev Stone cleared 7-06.00 for fourth place.

Stone cleared 4-08.00 in the high jump to take sixth out of 22 jumpers.Kimber Dulaney took 13th at 4-04.00 and Ava Runner cleared 4-02.00 for 19th place.

M. Yoakam placed third, out of 32, in the triple jump with a distance of 33-02.00. Joely Chappell took fifth at 31-06.00. Runner jumped 28-05.00 for 19th and Stone placed 25th at 27-00.50.

Chappell took ninth in the long jump, out of 59, at 14-01.50. Runner jumped 12-11.00 for 19th and Stone took 26th at 12-07.50.

Hannah Holinde threw 28-06.00 in the shot put for fifth place out of 66 competitors. Molly Whitmer took 41st at 21-02.00 and Myli Swindler threw 19-01.00 for 53rd place.

H. Holinde also led the team in the discus, setting a personal record at 78-02 and taking 16th out of 49 competitors. Whitmer threw 71-09 for 23rd place. Swindler and Lacey White took 35th and 37th, respectively, with distances of 62-04 and 62-03.

M. Yoakam threw the javelin 71-05, a personal best, for 27th out of 69 competitors. Swindler also set a personal best at 61-11 and took 23rd place. White threw 59-07 for 48th place, followed by Whitmer in 52 with a 56-06 throw and A. Runner in 65th with a 38-10 throw.

Gina Page led the Scottie girls in the 100 meters with a 13.79 and an eighth place, out of 83, finish. Chappell placed 10th at 13.84. Kaylly Turner ran a 14.93 for 44th and Abigail Kulczyk took 54th at 15.22. White set a personal record at 16.45 and finished in 73rd place.

Page also led the team in the 200 meters, running a 28.27 for third place out of 64 runners. Turner took 31st at 31.49 and Kulczyk took 35th at 31.65. Paityn Britzman ran a 34.17 for 55th and Chezney Olson took 57th at 34.66. In the 400 meters, Riley Evenson-Glasoe ran a 1:12.71 for 19th place out of 28 runners.

Emily See led Glasgow in the 800 meters, running a 2:39.70 and taking seventh out of 34 runners. Dulaney ran a 2:49.33 for 14th, followed by Kheyerah Bilger in 16th at 2:50.17 and Evenson-Glasoe at 2:51.72 and 18th place.

Tanae Baker placed second in the 1600 meters, out of 32 runners, with a time of 5:40.18. See placed fourth at 6:02.05 while Haleigh Huntsman finished in 6:09.90 and seventh place. Bilger and Dulaney also cracked the top ten, taking eighth and ninth respectively. Bilger ran a 6:29.43 and Dulaney finished in 6:36.66.

Baker also led the Scotties in the 3200 meters, running a 12:12.71 for second place among 11 runners. Her time pre-qualified her for the State Class B meet this season. Huntsman took fifth place with a time of 13:21.93.

M. Yoakam ran a 17:04 in the 100m hurdles to take second out of 18 runners while A. Runner took ninth, out of 15, with a time of 55.29 in the 300m hurdles.

Chappell, Kulczyk, Turner and Page put up a time of 55.95 in the 4x100 relay, finishing in 11th out of 17 teams. In the 4x400 relay, Chappell, Page, Yoakam and See finished in fourth out of 10 teams with a time of 4:26.59.
