For the week of March 25 through 30, there were 12 motor vehicle stops, three reports of loose dogs, and one report of a barking dog.
Monday, March 25
1458 – A call was received regarding a female finding a plate on her desk. She does not know where it came from or why it was there. The plate was run and the registered owner was contacted. He was not sure what it would have come off of or where it could have been found. He is currently out of town b ut will pick it back up when he gets into town.
Tuesday, March 26
0919 – A public assist call was recorded. A deputy advised the car had a flat tire and they have all the tools to change it.
1112 – Reporting party stated about three to four weeks ago, two guys tried to steal his car out of his driveway. He states they pushed the vehicle out of his driveway and then tried to start it but couldn’t get it started. So they pushed it back to the driveway, but when they did this the power steering broke. He has them on video and he thinks they should be questioned on this matter because if it is the same two guys who stole a vehicle recently, he wants them to pay for the broken power steering. He would like to speak to an officer about the situation.
1502 – Reporting party called in stating she just got a phone call from one of her employees. They stated a semi-truck just went by and took out the power line there. It is laying across the road in front of the school. Northwestern Energy was contacted and she will get someone out there. Deputy advised it may be a telephone line but it was requested that the power company check it out first.
Wednesday, March 27
1746 – Reporting party said they allowed a male to live with them for about a year to help him get back on his feet. She said they told him in November that he would have to be out by March 15. He told them that he has no place to go and said they can’t kick him out I the cold. He informed her that if she wants him out, she can have him evicted or get a restraining order. The female stated she spoke to the judge and the sheriff about the situation. The judge informed her that she needs to call dispatch to have an officer respond because he’s now trespassing.
1755 – Caller reported that a pickup pulled into his property about 15 minutes ago. They pulled out of view of his camera and he has been yelling at them over the speaker but they don’t respond. He stated they are up to something. At 1800 the reporting party called back and stated to tell the deputy to disregard. He stated a neighbor checked and the vehicle left. Nothing appears to be disturbed.
2149 – Reporting party called and said there was “something going on outside” and that she couldn’t stop it. An officer was notified who later advised he has one male detained in his vehicle. At 2237, officer advised both parties were given a citation for disorderly conduct and are on their way.
Thursday, March 28
0134 – Reporting party called and requested an officer. She sounded very upset and stressed out. When trying to ask questions, she stated the address and that there were three kids in the house. Her boyfriend just came home and then her voice got high and squeaky where dispatch didn’t know what she said. She started screaming to get an officer to the location now. An officer was notified who advised that a male had assaulted another male and then left the residence. Officer located the male and advised a PBT of .134. At 0450, hospital called and said that a male, who had been assaulted told her that the situation had already been handled and the offender was apprehended.
0818 – Reporting party called stating a semi was backing up on the highway. As the conversation continued, the semi turned around so no longer causing an issue on the highway.
0847 – Reporting party called stating she was behind a semi-truck, he backed into her. The driver of the semi-truck stated he had to make a delivery but would get back with her. He then left. When the reporting party called in, she was looking for him and was able to locate him. There are no injuries from the accident.
0944 – Reporting party called in wanting to speak with an officer. He states he is taking over the ranch and is inventorying things at the shop. He has found that they are missing net wrap. He can see tracks in the snow so this probably occurred about seven to 10 days ago.
1455 – Reporting party called in stating he was going eastbound on US Highway 2 and there was a pick-up truck that was going westbound. A piece of plywood came off his truck and struck the semi. It broke his windshield and driver’s side mirror. He didn’t get a good look at the truck so he is not sure what color, make or model but he says his company has cameras in the vehicle so they will be able to find out. He needs a report. He is not injured, it just scarred him. A deputy was notified.
2305 – Caller reported a small accident between her kids and another vehicle because it is so slippery. There are no injuries and both parties are sill on scene. The one vehicle left and the other vehicle is having issues with the transmission. They are calling for help before having to call a tow.
Friday, March 29
0148 – Reporting party stated her dog was barking at someone outside the front door. She yelled but no one would say anything back. A tribal officer is responding, however did not find anyone in the area.
0955 – Reporting party called to state a pickup that has been all over the road going eastbound on US Highway 2. He states the vehicle has been from the ditch to crossing the yellow center line. RCSO dispatch was contacted and they advised an officer will be on the lookout for the vehicle.
2219 – Reporting party is reporting a belligerent person, her daughter’s boyfriend. She did not know his name and does not know the address, but provided a description of location. She sounded possibly intoxicated and dispatch could hear a female in the background saying “She is lying.” RCSO sent someone and tribal arrived on scene. At 2253, deputy stated parties have settled down and the male in question has established residence at this house.
Saturday, March 30
1452 – Caller reported someone dumped off a bag of garbage at the turn off to St. Marie. She stated she knows who did it because she discovered a pay stub belonging to the person. She is wondering if the person can be cited for littering.
2000 – Caller asked if anyone had reported a fire. He stated he could see something from the main highway. Dispatch advised the caller there is a burn permit out there today but it was put out. The caller stated it looks like it was still going. Dispatch called the person from the burn permit who said he is going to check on the site.
2351 – Reporting party stated she ran out of gas east of town. A few minutes later she called back stating she found someone to help her.
