Valley County Election Updates:

County Commissioners, Town of Nashua and Nashua School Board Are Contested Races

A total of three candidates have applied to run for the vacate Valley County Commissioner District 3 seat currently held by Commissioner Mary Armstrong. Michael Carney, Mitchell Willett, and Jeff Alsberg will all be on the ballot during the Primary Election in June.

The top two candidates will move onto the ballot during the General Election in November.

Shelley Bryan will retain her position as Valley County Clerk of District Court; she is the only filing for that office.

The Town of Nashua has two positions open and four candidates have filed: Joy Guttenberg, Shandy Stingley, Ann MacDonald, and Gregg Fromdahl.

Voters still have until Thursday, March 28, at 5 p.m. to file for positions on School Boards. As of press time, Nashua School is the only one that will have a contested race. There are two seats open and three individuals have filed, Sharon L Merideth, Tim Bellon, and Kayla Thievin.

School district and special district elections, except for Frazer School, on Tuesday, May 7, will all be mail-ballot elections.

The Fort Peck Rural County Water District has four candidates filed to fill two seats on the board, Josh Kittleson, Samuel Morehouse, Mary Kaercher, and Debra Steffani.

Special District and School elections will be held on May 7, 2024; all elections will be mail-ballot elections.

The Primary election is June 4 and the General election is Nov. 5.
