Scottie Boys 1-1 In Last Regular Season Weekend

Enter District 2B Tourney as No. 2 Seed

The Glasgow boys basketball team finished the regular season with a 6-4, 9-9 overall record after splitting their games. The Scotties beat Harlem 58-49 Feb. 9, before falling 60-43 to Fairview the following night, both games on the road.

Glasgow had four players score in the win over Harlem, led by Cade Hudyma with 28 points. Wyatt Babb scored 19, Connor Hudyma added 5 points and Myles Yoakam scored 4 points. Babb led in assists with seven followed by Yoakam with four. Connor Hudyma had two helpers while Toryn Richards, Cade Hudyma and Nick Solorzano had one a piece.

Cade Hudyma and Babb dominated the boards with 17 and 14 rebounds, respectively. Richards grabbed four, Yoakam two and Connor Hudyma and Solorzano one each. Cade Hudyma had two steals to lead the Scotties while Richards, Yoakam and Babb had one takeaway a piece. Yoakam and Babb each had a block in the win.

The Scottie JV team won their game 45-43, led by Cash Stulc with 11 points. Davis Tolzien scored 9 while Noah Runner and Gage Waarvik both addd 7 points. Andy Hanson hit for 5, Wyatt Sugg 4 and Trey Graham 2 points.

The C squad also brought home a win, 58-38. Gavin Redstone scored 16 to lead the Scotties followed by Stulc with 15 points. Tayven Bietz added 10 and Tripp Mavity 9 points. Liam Chapman scored 4 while Gage Larsen and Drew Simensen scored 2 points each.

Glasgow trailed Fairview 16-12 after one Saturday and 30-22 at the half. Fairview outscored Glasgow 16-6 in the third for a 46-28 lead heading into the final quarter. The Scotties put up 15 and held the Warriors to 14 in the last eight minutes, giving Fairview the win.

Cade Hudyma put up 15 points in leading Glasgow, followed by Yoakam with 12 and Babb with 11 points. Connor Hudyma added 4 and Richards hit a free throw. Babb led in assists with six followed by Connor Hudyma with two, and Richards and Yoakam with one each.

Cade Hudyma also led the Scotties in rebounds with seven. Richards pulled down four boards, Babb three, and Connor Hudyma and Yoakam two each. Cade Hudyma had two steals while Connor Hudyma, Yoakam and Babb had one takeaway a piece. Richards and Cade Hudyma both knocked down a Fairview shot.

The JV team fell 51-44 in Fairview. Stulc scored 11 and Hanson 10 in leading the team. Waarvik hit for 7, Tolzien 5, Graham 4, Runner 3 and Sugg 2 points.

As the number two seed, Glasgow has a bye in the first round of the District 2B Tournament in Wolf Point this week. The Scotties will face the winner of the Poplar-Wolf Point game on Thursday, Feb. 15, at 7:30 p.m. The tournament runs Wednesday through Saturday, Feb. 14-17.
