NC Boys Head to Postseason

The North Country Mavericks (7-11) are hoping to be one of the four District 3C teams to punch their ticket to the Eastern C Divisional starting on Wednesday, Feb. 28, in Glasgow.

To do so, the team will compete in the 2024 District 3C Tournament set to start in Glasgow on Wednesday, Feb. 14.

The Mavericks start their 3C tourney outing against the (6-12) Nashua Porcupines who they defeated 45-36 in their regular season finale in Nashua on Feb. 10.

If North Country can defeat Nashua, they will be matched up with the 3C Conference Champion Scobey Spartans on Thursday, Feb. 15, at 4:30 p.m.

In North Country's win over Nashua, Blaine Downing led the team with a 21 point, 13 rebound double-double, and four steals. Coy Bowman had 13 points, four rebounds, and three steals. Kade Strommen had six points, six rebounds, and two steals. Jake Brown had three points and three assists. Laytin Erickson had two points and eight rebounds.

The Mavericks fell to Lustre Christian on Feb. 9. The score was 65-27. Downing led North Country with 15 points. Strommen and Erickson each had four points. Chase Albus had three points and Bowman had one point.
