After the team's win over Dodson, Lady Mavericks' Head Coach Amber Erickson was asked how she felt the journey has been going for North Country as they prepare for the postseason, which starts in a few weeks.

"It's been going great," Coach Erickson said. "The kids are doing a really good job. I feel like our chemistry is getting better and better on the floor. With all of the kids that we did lose last year, we have had people step up and fill those roles now. Our JV has done well, which says to me that we have had great competition in practice."

She said that her bench has to go against some of the best athletes and defense in practice everyday.

"It doesn't always look pretty for them in practice and it can be very frustrating, but when they get into JV games and they are doing the things that they are trying against our varsity and they are successful, I think it helps with their confidence."

The JV team has seen minutes in the varsity games as well, but Coach Erickson said that she keeps a varsity player or two in, to keep up the flow, which also benefits the JV athletes.
